Here’s a new trailer:

hyrule warriors guardian of remembrance

During today’s Nintendo Direct, we finally received proper details on the Guardian of Remembrance DLC for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. It comes with new character vignettes, added stages, an expanded roster, and new battle skills for existing characters.

The Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity DLC was first announced way back in February. Then in June, the game received its first part of the Expansion Pass, Pulse of the Ancients. That DLC drop has the Battle-Tested Guardian as a playable character, new weapon types (Flail for Link and Master Cycle for Zelda), Royal Ancient Tech Lab, and more.

Touken Ranbu Musou Yamanbagiri Kunihiro

Publishers DMM Games and Nitroplus, along with developers Omega Force and Ruby Party, today confirmed Yamanbagiri Kunihiro as the last captain in Touken Ranbu Musou. As is the case with past reveals, the news comes thanks to the official website.

Yamanbagiri Kunihiro won’t be going to battle alone, as he’ll be joined by another unit. Based on what’s shown in the image above, Yamanbagiri Chougi should be assisting. We’re used to seeing at least two additional units per leader, but that won’t be the case here.

Touken Ranbu Musou Tsurumaru Kuninaga

Tsurumaru Kuninaga was today unveiled as the captain of the fourth unit in Touken Ranbu Musou. Publishers DMM Games and Nitroplus, along with developers Omega Force and Ruby Party, announced the news through the game’s official website.

Tsurumaru Kuninaga will be accompanied by two other units in Touken Ranbu Musou, who are teased in the silhouette above. Those characters are presumed to be Ookurikara and Shokudaikiri Mitsutada.

hyrule warriors age of calamity dlc

In an interview with Dengeki Online, the developers of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity commented on the game’s DLC.

According to co-producer Masaki Furusawa, the decision to make DLC was decided early on. He told the site:

Touken Ranbu Musou Heshikiri Hasebe

Heshikiri Hasebe will be featured in Touken Ranbu Musou, publishers DMM Games and Nitroplus as well as developers Omega Force and Ruby Party announced today. The playable character will act as the captain of the game’s third unit. You can see silhouettes of two others that will be a part of Kasen Kanesada’s unit above (who are presumably Tomoegata Naginata and Yagen Toushirou).

A couple of other characters have been announced for Touken Ranbu Musou outside of Heshikiri Hasebe. As part of the original announcement, we heard that Mikazuki Munechika will be leading the first unit, accompanied by Tonbokiri and Sengo Muramasa. Kasen Kanesada will be in charge of the second unit, who is joined by Hyuuga Masamune, Ichigo Hitofuri, and Namazuo Toushirou. There’ll be a total of five units and fifteen characters.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes place 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Since it’s set well behind in the past, we’re able to see what the world was like before a good part of it was left in ruins.

This presented an interesting challenge to the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity developers. The team had to go back to the drawing board and imagine what the world would have been originally like.

Producers Yosuke Hayashi and Masaki Furusawa, along with director Ryota Matsushita, noted the following about the design process while speaking with Japanese outlet Dengeki Online:

Dengeki Online recently published a lengthy Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity developer interview. Producers Yosuke Hayashi and Masaki Furusawa, along with director Ryota Matsushita, were all involved with the discussion.

At one point, there was some interesting discussion about the game’s characters. The three first shared the following when asked about how the playable characters were chosen, as translated by Nintendo Everything:

Samurai Warriors 5

A new update is now available for Samurai Warriors 5 addressing several bugs. Here are the patch notes:

When Touken Ranbu Musou was announced last week, Mikazuki Munechika was revealed as captain of the first unit. It’s now been confirmed that Kasen Kanesada will be featured in the game as the captain of the second unit.

Touken Ranbu Musou will include fifteen playable characters spread across across five units.

Touken Ranbu Musou is in development for Switch, but a release window has not been shared at this time.
