Pokemon Scarlet Violet reviews

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are just a couple of days away from reaching Switch, and reviews for the games are now starting to appear. Nintendo just lifted the official embargo.

The latest entries in the well-known franchise are offering something brand new with the open world of the Paldea region. Players can traverse land, water, and air by riding Koraidon in Scarlet and Miraidon in Violet. Many new creatures are appearing for the first time including the starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. There are plenty of other hooks like the Terastal Phenomenon in which Pokemon can gain special power, co-op play with the Union Circle, and more.

Sonic Frontiers is about to release five years after the previous mainline 3D entry in the series, and reviews are now starting to come in. We’re hoping to have our own verdict eventually, but we’ll note that SEGA hasn’t shared a Switch code with us yet.

Sonic Frontiers is the first entry in the series to use the open zone concept, which Sonic Team hopes will be the next core pillar of the franchise with Takashi Iizuka saying it’s “that next step for the next 10 years.” Players can now explore a number of huge islands, but those looking for more traditional levels can venture through the Cyber Space stages. There are other new elements here including totally redone combat, a skill tree system, and more.

Bayonetta 3 reviews

Bayonetta 3 is about to make its debut on Switch, and ahead of its launch later this week, the first wave of reviews are starting to come online. Nintendo just lifted the embargo.

Bayonetta 3 follows the previous game on Wii U that released nearly a decade ago. The title still has the over-the-top climax action gameplay the franchise is known for, but introduces some new elements. With the Demon Masquerade ability, Bayonetta can channel the demon linked to her weapon for some action options. The likes of Gomorrah, Malphas, and Phantasmaraneae can be controlled during battle. Viola, a feisty witch in training who fights with a sword and has the demon Cheshire at her side, is also a new addition.

Splatoon 3 reviews

With Splatoon 3 set for release in just a few days, reviews for the Switch exclusive are starting to come online. Nintendo lifted the embargo just a few moments ago.

Splatoon 3 builds on the shooting gameplay of its predecessors. This time around, the sun-scorched desert of Splatlands is featured. There are new moves available to dodge attacks and cover more ground, plus a new bow-shaped weapon to sling ink and new special weapons, such as the scuttling Crab Tank. Turf War, Salmon Run, and the Story Mode featuring the “Return of the Mammalians” campaign are the main modes. Splatfests are back, but now feature Tricolor Turf War – a mode where three teams compete at the same time and the first-place team must defend themselves in a unique 4-v-2-v-2 battle.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will bring together the futures of the first two entries in the series, though it can also be played by anyone that doesn’t have experience with the franchise. The game has a huge world to explore, RPG combat with a new Ouroboros fusion mechanic, and more. The whole experience is presented with the nations of Keves and Agnus fighting to extend their lives long enough to realize a 10-year period of service. A group of six soldiers from rival nations will look to put aside their differences and work together to expose a new threat.

pokemon brilliant diamond shining pearl reviews

Ahead of this week’s launch, reviews for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are now starting to emerge. Nintendo just lifted the embargo on the two Switch games.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl were announced for Switch this past February. New trailers and information have been shared regularly since then, though it’s safe to say that these are traditional remakes. While the graphics have been spruced up and a few new features are included, the DS games haven’t seen a radical overhaul. We recently shared a video – available here – discussing the remakes and why The Pokemon Company opted for this approach.
