Famitsu reported a few days ago that Super Mario Maker 2 shifted nearly 200,000 copies in its first week. Dengeki has things quite a bit lower at 163,000 units, but regardless, it’s the best debut for the series yet. The Wii U and 3DS versions each sold about 150,000 copies in their first weeks.
Dengeki also mentions that Super Mario Maker 2 sold through about 55 percent of its initial shipment. That’s comparable to the 56 percent for the Wii U original and 50 percent for the 3DS edition.
We’ll also mention here that Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball for Switch sold 79,000 copies in its first week with a sell-through rate of 65 percent. However, since Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2018 sold 192,000 units on PS4 and PS Vita, Dengeki feels that the Switch release is off to a bit of a slow start.
