When you think of third-party games on Nintendo systems, LEGO is one of the first things that may come to mind. After all, we’ve seen numerous titles on the Big N’s systems going back to the N64. It also helps that several LEGO games tend to release each generation.

Given all of this information, it shouldn’t be too surprising to hear that LEGO is the best-selling third-party franchise on Nintendo platforms. That’s according to the NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella.

Piscatella shared a couple of other noteworthy tidbits as well. LEGO is the ninth-biggest video game franchise in history in terms of dollar sales. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, LEGO Batman, and LEGO Star Wars II are the best-selling entries.
