Samba de Amigo: Party Central demo released on Switch

SEGA is offering fans a chance to try out Samba de Amigo: Party Central early with a brand new Switch demo. It was released today, and can be downloaded in all major regions including North America and Japan.
The Samba de Amigo: Party Central demo lets players try out the motion controls or standard controls. Only two songs are included – “Tik Tok” and “Shake Senora (feat. T-Pain & Sean Paul”. However, each one features “Normal”, “Hard”, “Super Hard”, and “Crazy” difficulties. At the end of each song, you’ll be given a grade for your performance. There are a few options to tinker around with as well.

Roger Hector, who was previously the director of SEGA Technical Institute, has reflected on Michael Jackson’s involvement with Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Hector is also credited as executive coordinator on that game.
Jackson’s music contributions have long been a topic of discussion as there’s been much uncertainty over the years. For some time SEGA even said it didn’t work with the legendary singer while others that worked on the game said his work ended up in the final game.

SEGA says Shadow won’t be brought to the Sonic Classic series

Any hopes of Shadow appearing in the Classic Sonic the Hedgehog series have been dashed, at least for now.
Shadow is actually the favorite character of Sonic Team creative officer Takashi Iizuka. Unfortunately though, it seems he can only appear in the Modern series.

Sonic Superstars devs discuss new enemy Trip

Sonic Superstars is taking a different approach to the story, including with new enemy trip. The developers behind the game have now given insight into its creation.
Sonic Team creative officer Takashi Iizuka told Game Informer that the team “wanted to have a new story,” which required a new character. It was also important to have an enemy “with some kind of unique characteristics, some character backgrounds, some storytelling elements that are going to make the character unique and stand out and be a character that people can kind of relate to and empathize with and enjoy as a character in the world”.

With the success of the original game, some were surprised by the fact that we never ended up seeing Sonic Mania 2. It turns out there was actually some initial interest on SEGA’s part, but things ultimately weren’t meant to be.
Classic Sonic is now going in a new direction with the previously-revealed Sonic Superstars. Arzest is taking the lead with Naoto Ohshima (who worked on the series’ original games) on board for the project, but the Sonic Mania team isn’t involved.
