The website for Edward Moore, a UX/UI design consultant on Sonic Boom, reveals that the Wii U and 3DS games were known as “Sonic Synergy” at one point.
Moore’s site also houses images of UI diagrams and early concept artwork. Another image – shown below – also seems to depict a slightly different-looking Sonic.

As The Sonic Stadium points out, “Sonic’s arms are back to being tan in colour, spikes are also different, much more like the Sega Sonic version. Amy also has some differences too.”

Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 8 Comments
SEGA announced a few new 3D Classics earlier this week. 3D Streets of Rage 2 is the first out of the bunch and is coming in July. 3D Gunstar Heroes and 3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2 are launching in August and September respectively.
SEGA hasn’t provided much information about 3D Gunstar Heroes and 3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2, but we do have a couple of details about 3D Streets of Rage 2. Famitsu reports that the game will support simultaneous two-player multiplayer via local play, though both users will need a copy. Also included are new systems like a mode called “Quartet” which allows you to use all four characters in sequence when playing alone.
Japan is getting 3D Streets of Rage 2 very soon. It’s slated for April 28, and will carry an 800 yen price point.
