Splatoon 2

North America will be catching up with the rest of the world with its own seventh Splatfest in Splatoon 2 next weekend. The theme? Money vs. love.

The Splatfest kicks off on February 16 at 9 PM PT / February 17 at 12 AM ET. It’ll last for a full day, and we’ll have the results soon after.

Splatoon 2’s latest weapon, Custom Goo Tuber, was just added in a short while ago. Take a closer look at it in the video below.

A new weapon will be added to Splatoon 2 pretty soon, and this time, it’s a variant of a weapon that debuted in Splatoon 2. The Custom Goo Tuber is identical to the regular Goo Tuber in terms of stats, but comes with the Curling Comb sub-weapon and the Inkjet special instead. It’ll be available in-game tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

Update: This update should be available now. Still no patch notes, but the Japanese update page only makes mention of correcting the glitch.


Original: Nintendo has confirmed another new patch for Splatoon 2. Version 2.2.2 is scheduled for release later tonight.

As far as what it entails, we know that Nintendo will be looking to address a specific glitch in Arowana Mall. We’ll bring you the full patch notes when we have them.

Much like the Squid Sisters a few years ago, Pearl and Marina from Off the Hook will be appearing “live” in concert for the first time this weekend at NicoNico Tokaigi this weekend. Nintendo readied a promo video for the event, which we have below.

The latest Japanese Splatfest took place in Splatoon 2 this weekend. Nintendo has since ended the event, and the results are in.

The topic for this Splatfest was champion vs. challenger. In two areas, the results were determined by just a single percentage point, with popularity separated by just a few percentage points. Team Challenger had just a slight edge in votes and solo battles, which propelled them to a 2-1 victory.

The next Splatfest in Splatoon 2 has been announced for Europe, and it’s certainly an interesting one.

Nintendo is posing a food-related question this time around. The company wants to know, do you find gherkins in burgers to be disgusting or delicious?

Players will be able to battle for the side they choose starting on February 10 at 3 PM, lasting for a full day. We should have the results soon after the event ends.
