Returning from the first game, Arowana Mall was just added to Splatoon 2 tonight. Take a look at some footage of the stage below.

Arowana Mall, the latest stage for Splatoon 2, will be added to the game tomorrow. Nintendo has announced that the map will be going live at the following times:

– 6 PM PT (February 1)
– 9 PM ET (February 1)
– 2 AM in the UK (February 2)
– 3 AM in Europe (February 2)

Arowana Mall originally appeared in the first Splatoon. You can get a look at how it looks in the sequel via the screenshots below.

This weekend, the latest Japanese Splatfest in Splatoon 2 will be taking place. The theme for this particular event is champion vs. challenger. As usual, Nintendo has produced a special piece of art for the Splatfest, which we have above.

The Rapid Blaster Deco was added to Splatoon 2 a short while ago as the game’s latest weapon. The video below gives us a closer look at it in action.

A new Japanese Splatfest will be held in Splatoon 2 next week, Nintendo has announced. This one acts as a tie-in of sorts with the Splatoon manga. The topic is champion vs. challenger.

The new Splatfest kicks off on February 3 at 3 PM Japan time. Once it ends, we should have the results soon after.

It’s the end of the week, which means another new weapon addition to Splatoon 2. This time, it’s the Rapid Blaster Deco, which has the same stats as the regular Rapid Blaster, but comes with the Suction Bomb sub-weapon and the Inkjet special. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

Two prominent Switch games from 2017 will be receiving spotlights at this year’s Game Developers Conference. Event organizers announced today that Splatoon 2 and ARMS will have their own sessions hosted by Hisashi Nogami and Kosuke Yabuki respectively.

During the session for “Splatoon and Splatoon 2: How to Invent a Stylish Franchise with Global Appeal” Nogami “will share his experiences working with a design team whose goal was to create a game that was novel, yet easy to grasp and riveting to play.”

Update 2 (1/22): We’ve added Switch maintenance to the schedule below.


Update (1/19): Splatoon 2 maintenance has completed. Wii U and 3DS maintenance added to the schedule for next week.


Original (1/18): Nintendo’s maintenance schedule has updated once again, and two new sessions have been added. Splatoon 2 will be impacted tonight / tomorrow (a new update is actually being prepared to address issues from the most recent patch), and Wii U / 3DS Image Share maintenance is planned for next week.

Here’s the full schedule:

Splatoon 2 had a big update this week which made many changes to multiplayer, Salmon Run, and more. Another patch was also released on Friday to fix a few issues.

As for the next notable update, Nintendo says that it’s planned for the end of February. You can probably look forward to the latest round of game adjustments. When it goes live, we’ll let you know.
