Octopath Traveler

With just a couple of days until launch, Square Enix sent out another batch of Octopath Traveler details and screenshots. The latest update covers battle jobs, secret jobs, and party chat. Everything has been rounded up below, courtesy of Gematsu.

YouTuber ProJared visited the Nintendo of America offices to get a hands-on preview of Octopath Traveler. Among other things, we learned that you can toggle between Japanese and English voices throughout the game. You can watch ProJared’s video below.

The North American Octopath Traveler website is now open. You can find Nintendo’s site for the Switch RPG here.

Some of the pages haven’t gone live yet, but there’s still plenty to see. The site houses a few different videos, information about the playable characters, and more.

At Japan Expo earlier today, producer Masashi Takahashi and composer Yasunori Nishiki stopped by for a special session. Four new jobs were revealed at the event.

They are as follows:

Octopath Traveler

Octopath Traveler producer Masashi Takahashi and composer Yasunori Nishiki are both in attendance at Japan Expo this week. French site Jeuxvideo caught up with the two to learn more about the game.

Lelouch0612 provides the following details from the discussion:

Dragon Quest is no stranger to long localizations. It can take years for games to leave Japan after all. With Dragon Quest VII on 3DS for example, it took over three years for the RPG to reach North America and Europe.

Dragon Quest XI producer Yuu Miyake spoke about this with Game Informer. Due to the large amount of text in each game and creator Yuji Horii’s dedication to the translation, it can take quite some time for different entries in the series to appear around the world.

An interesting job listing has gone up for Square Enix Business Division 8. The company is looking for a project assistant who would be working on an action RPG planned for Switch and PlayStation 4.

In the past, this team has worked on the Secret of Mana remake. It also developed the browser title Imperial SaGa.
