Deadly Premonition 2

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise was unveiled during a Nintendo Direct last September. Since then, there hasn’t been much in the way of official news. But based on a tweet from director Hidetaka Suehiro, we could finally be hearing something soon.

Suehiro, known more commonly as Swery, said in a tweet yesterday that something’s happening next week with Deadly Premonition 2. He also said that development on The Good Life – another one of his projects – is “going well”.

Here’s the tweet in question:

The physical version of Deadly Premonition Origins has been dated for Europe. Numskull Games will distribute the title on November 22, the company has announced.

Deadly Premonition Origins is currently available digitally on the eShop.

Deadly Premonition Origins

Last week’s Nintendo Direct brought very good news for Deadly Premonition fans. Not only is a sequel in the works, but the original game launched on the eShop.

Players did notice some audio issues with Deadly Premonition Origins – specifically related to audio. The good news is that Toybox has started to address those problems, and a patch that just went live should improve the experience.

Deadly Premonition Origins is getting a collector’s edition, Aksys Games has revealed. It includes six metal pins in a collectible case along with the game itself.

In the UK, the collector’s edition will be sold exclusively at GAME. No exclusivity is planned for other retailers in Europe.

As for the United States, the collector’s edition can be pre-ordered here.

GameSpot has provided some footage of the newly-released Switch port of Deadly Premonition Origins. Get a look at the gameplay below.

In the first teaser trailer released for Deadly Premonition 2, a notice at the end stated that the game will be exclusive to Switch. Although that may initially be the case, it might not be something that’ll be maintained forever.

Rising Star Games co-founder Brjánn Sigurgeirsson told PushSquare that Deadly Premonition 2 is “Switch exclusive at launch”. Other than that, the publisher is “not discussing other platforms at this stage”. This suggests that Deadly Premonition 2 will be timed-exclusive, as opposed to permanent exclusivity.
