Immortals: Fenyx Rising

Immortals Fenyx Rising, the title previously known as Gods & Monsters, is just a few months away. During the Ubisoft Forward event, it was officially announced that the will be available for Switch on December 3.

Here’s a whole bunch of information plus a couple of trailers:

Roller Champions

Roller Champions was briefly featured during today’s Ubisoft Forward pre-show. It’s now confirmed that the game will be launching sometime in early 2021.

Additionally, we’ll be hearing much more from Ubisoft going forward. Beginning on October, there will be a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development with the Blueprint Initiative, including developer diaries and interviews with several members of the team along with the opportunity to start a discussion through voting and different activities.

Ubisoft Forward

Today’s Ubisoft Forward presentation will be starting soon. A pre-show begins at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM in the UK / 8 PM in Europe, followed by the main event right after.

The first Ubisoft Forward was admittedly light on Nintendo-related news, but we do have confirmation that Immortals Fenyx Rising will be shown this time around. It’ll be our first look at the game since it was initially revealed at E3 2019 as Gods & Monsters.

We have an embed for today’s Ubisoft Forward presentation below.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising

Next week, Ubisoft is set to finally deliver an update on Immortals: Fenyx Rising, the project previously known as Gods & Monsters. The company will be showing off the game during Ubisoft Forward, which will be our first look since E3 2019.

New information has now appeared from an official Xbox Live listing. According to the store page, Immortals: Fenyx Rising will launch on December 3. It also comes with the following description and screenshots:

Ubisoft Forward

Ubisoft has announced that it will host a second Ubisoft Forward presentation on September 10.

A pre-show will get things started at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM in the UK / 8 PM in Europe. A number of games will be featured here, including Brawlhalla and Roller Champions.

A game entitled “Immortals: Fenyx Rising” has appeared on the Taiwanese rating board with Ubisoft listed as the publisher. It has been rated for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

While no game by this name has been announced by Ubisoft at this time, it seems likely this is the new title for their upcoming adventure game, Gods & Monsters. Ubisoft confirmed that Gods & Monsters would be getting a new name after its accidental demo leak back in June and seeing that the main character’s name is Fenyx, it makes sense that this would be the new title.

However, nothing has been confirmed at this time and this information comes from Gematsu, not Ubisoft directly. So, there is a slim chance that this game is not Gods & Monsters, but more information should come from Ubisoft soon.

Just Dance 2021

Ubisoft continues to roll with its Just Dance franchise, as Just Dance 2021 was announced today. It will only release on Switch – no Wii version this year (or Wii U for that matter).

Just Dance 2021 launches for Switch on November 12.

Here’s the full announcement and trailer:

Ubisoft has kicked off a new “Ubisoft Summer Blow Out Sale” on the Switch eShop. Assassin’s Creed, Child of Light, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Rayman Legends, and South Park are among the included games.

MAX, a retailer in Guatemala, has listed a Prince of Persia remake for Switch. The page doesn’t contain any information aside from a potential November launch month.

Bloomberg editor Jason Schreier has seemingly backed up the listing. After seeing the retailer page, Schreier said on Twitter, “Video game retailers sure love leaking Ubisoft’s surprise announcements”. And when one person responded to his remark by casting doubt on the news, Schreier responded with, “This tweet won’t age well.”

If the Prince of Persia remake is real, Ubisoft could choose to announce it during its Ubisoft Forward presentation in September.

Ubisoft will host a second Ubisoft Forward presentation in September, the company announced during a financial call today. Specifics regarding planned content for the show were not detailed.

This month’s Ubisoft Forward was light on new announcements and Nintendo news overall. In fact, the only Switch-related content was relegated to the pre-show, where we found out about DLC for Trials Rising. There was a small update on Just Dance 2020 as well which was only about a few new songs. Fans are still waiting for a status update on Gods & Monsters after it was announced at last year’s E3.

We’ll report back with the final date and time for the second Ubisoft Forward broadcast when we have it.
