UK

The Nintendo UK store often offers bonuses for those who pre-order games. With Dragon Quest VIII, you’ll receive a free poster by reserving early. You can place an order here.

Most retailers don’t actually know when Switch is releasing or how much it’ll cost, but UK retailer GameSeek is giving consumers a guarantee. You can reserve the console on its website for £198.50. GameSeek says that if the price increases between the time an order is placed and the release date, you’ll be charged the lower price.

The GameSeek listing also mentions a March 17 release date. Whether or not that’s reliable remains to be seen.

Thanks to Stephan for the tip.

Laura Kate Dale of Let’s Play Video Games has published another report on the Switch. Again, these are just rumors at the moment, but Laura has been pretty accurate on her Switch reporting so far.

According to two separate sources of hers, the UK-based store GAME “has been informed of the Nintendo Switch’s wholesale price to retailers” and will sell the Switch at a price of £199.99. This is not a price dictated by Nintendo, as console manufacturers are not allowed to set suggested retail prices for their consoles, but it’s pretty likely that the system will be sold across the UK at that price.

Various retailers in the UK are offering pre-order bonuses for the 3DS version of Super Mario Maker. Nintendo detailed the different goodies on its website today.

As we heard about before, by pre-ordering on the Nintendo UK store, you can receive one of three different freebies. These include a Super Mario Bros. 3D Motion Notebook, Build-A-Level mug, and range of Super Mario Bros. coasters. Additionally, the Question Block Storage Tin and “Breaking Bricks Since ‘85” t-shirt can be had at a discount price.

Bonuses at other retailers are more straightforward. GAME is providing a set of magnets encased in a Super Mario Maker sleeve, Argos has a double sided A3 poster, and Smyths Toys is giving out a set of Super Mario themed pin badges.
