Ubisoft would have preferred a lower price for Wii U
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
Everyone has their own opinion on the Wii U’s price. I don’t think anyone would say it’s too lower, but there are some who would prefer the console to be priced lower.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is in the camp that would have liked a lower price for Wii U.
He said:
“I always prefer lower pricing, so I can’t say I’m happy. I’m never happy when the machines are expensive. What we have to do there is remember that compared to an iPad, it’s cheap. With what it brings [to the gaming table] it’s cheap. But I hope they’ll be able to drop their price in time.”
What do you think about the Wii U price? Too high? Just right?

BioWare Montreal developing new Mass Effect, using Frostbite engine
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
BioWare Montreal is taking the lead on development of the next Mass Effect. The team previously worked on cinematics, N7 missions, and post-release content for Mass Effect 2, and multiplayer/single-player content for Mass Effect 3.
Casey Hudson is still acting as the executive producer for the new title. This time around though, a project director will be working under him.
The next Mass Effect will make use of EA’s Frostbite 2 engine, which studio director Yanick Roy says is “enhanced by many of the systems that the Dragon Age III team has already spent a lot of time building.”
Roy also wrote on the BioWare blog today:
“The other thing I can tell you is that, while it will be very respectful of the heritage built over the course of the first three games, with the original trilogy now concluded and the switch over to a new engine, we are exploring new directions, both on the gameplay and story fronts. You can still expect the pillars the franchise is known for to be fully intact though, including diverse alien races, a huge galaxy to explore, and of course rich, cinematic storytelling.”
Roy added:
“We’re all looking forward to telling you more about this next Mass Effect game, but it’s probably going to be quite a while before you hear from us again. We know you have high expectations for the franchise and we want to make sure whatever we show you lives up to those expectations.”
BioWare Montreal is currently looking for new staffers to join the team. Job listings can be found here.
