Luigi - Super Mario 64

24 years after the launch of Super Mario 64 on the N64, Luigi’s model has finally been restored in the game.

Luigi was originally planned for the 3D platformer through splitscreen multiplayer. However, Nintendo abandoned the idea after the team was unable to implement the idea.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced that Fire Emblem Heroes will be hosting Hall of Forms on July 28. Players will be tasked with devising a strategy to guide special units made in the image of Heroes called Forma through Hall of Forms.

Little Devil Inside

Back in 2015, Neostream announced its action adventure RPG Little Devil Inside, and successfully raised funding through Kickstarter, which included a Wii U stretch goal. We then heard at the end of 2017 that the team had interest in bringing the game to Switch. After falling off the radar, it finally resurfaced last month with a brand new trailer.

That’s only a part of the story. Little Devil Inside was re-revealed during the PS5 showcase with the video indicating that it will only be on PlayStation platforms at launch. This upset some fans, including those that originally backed the game for Wii U.

Balan Wonderworld

Square Enix has shared new information about the 3D action-platformer Balan Wonderworld. Information has been provided about the game’s premise, costumes feature, story, and characters.

Swimsanity!

Decoy Games has set a final release date for Swimsanity!, its multiplayer underwater shooter. The game will launch via the eShop on August 6, the studio announced this week.

Summer in Mara

Summer in Mara has been updated on Switch to version 1.9. A couple of major features have been added, including fast travel and new cooking spots.

Paper Mario: The Origami King

Paper Mario: The Origami King released in Japan last week, and Famitsu reported that the game sold 109,000 copies in its first few days. We now have a chart comparing the debut for every Paper Mario game in Japan (including Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam since it features that character).

There continue to be new developments stemming from this week’s Nintendo leak. An early version of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl has been discovered, revealing beta sprites from the games.

This is just one of several recent Nintendo-related leaks that have sprung up. Others include an online Pokemon PC title, beta sprites and early designs for a number of classics, and information/assets pertaining to Super Mario 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Atlus graced fans with some long overdue news this week. Shin Megami Tensei V, which was announced back in January 2017, will finally release next year. We still don’t have an exact date, but fans can rest easy knowing that they’ll finally be able to play the RPG in 2021.

That wasn’t the only news from Atlus. Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is on the way, which is something entirely new. Japan is getting it first in October, but western fans unfortunately need to wait until Spring 2021.
