Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will host its latest tournament this week, Nintendo has announced. The theme this time around involves fighters and characters from 2000 through 2009.

The tournament goes live in Smash Bros. Ultimate on June 12. Expect it to last for a total of three days.

Fight Crab

Fight Crab may have a release date on Switch. Based on retailer listings from the likes of Play-Asia, the title could be launching on August 20.

Play-Asia also reveals that a physical version will be offered in Asia. English will be supported, meaning you can import the game and play it in any region as you would normally. Pre-orders are open here, and you’ll get an A4 clear file Fight Crab as a bonus.

Fight Crab was last said to be targeting a Summer 2020 release. When we receive an official launch announcement, we’ll let you know.

Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World: The Prophecy of the Throne

Spike Chunsoft has officially announced that the tactical adventure game Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World: The Prophecy of the Throne is coming west. It’ll launch on Switch in North America this summer. English text and Japanese and English audio will be supported.

Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition

Publisher Digerati and developer Brainwash Gang have announced Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition, a nihilistic action-platformer. The game, a fully remastered version of the original Nongunz with new modes, “Arena”, and local co-op, will be coming to Switch.

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has kicked off a big Summer Game Sale on the North American eShop. Switch owners can save on a bunch of different tiles from both Nintendo and third-parties, including Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Dragon Quest XI S, and much more.

CrossCode

As was officially announced today, CrossCode finally comes to Switch on July 9. However, a few physical editions are also on the way that will follow shortly after.

Fans can choose between a standard copy, Steelbook Edition, and Collector’s Edition. Here’s a full rundown of what’s included in the latter two:

Super Soccer Blast

Unfinished Pixel announced today that its arcade-style soccer game Super Soccer Blast will be available on Switch this month. The title will be distributed digitally via the eShop.

CrossCode

Update (6/9): The July 9 release date has been officially announced, which applies to all regions.


Original (6/8): Switch owners have been waiting for CrossCode since January 2019. The action-RPG was announced during one of Nintendo’s indie presentations, but it still has yet to release. It appears that will finally be changing next month.

Dangen Entertainment, the company publishing CrossCode in Japan, just posted a trailer for the game that shows a July 9 release date. Presumably that news applies to all regions, though we should be getting the final confirmation tomorrow. It was mentioned a few days ago that an official release date would be shared this week.

Prinny 1-2: Exploded and Reloaded

NIS America today announced the final release date for Prinny 1-2: Exploded and Reloaded. The collection will launch for Switch on October 13 in North America, October 16 in Europe, and October 23 in Oceania.
