UK sales for December 2018 – Nintendo the biggest publisher of physical games

New sales data is in from the UK for the month of December 2018.
Nintendo had a great month, as over 30% of all games sold were on the company’s platforms. Switch accounted for 29.5% of that figure. Nintendo was the UK’s biggest publisher of physical games in December and Nintendo-published games comprised 19.3% of all games sold. During the month, Switch was the second most-popular platform, following just behind PS4’s 39.7% share.

Clannad will have English support on Switch

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Clannad was revealed for Switch. We now have official confirmation that the visual novel will carry English support. Clannad has only been announced for Japan, but that carries slightly less importance now with today’s news and the fact that Switch is region-free.
Players will be able to go back and forth between Japanese and English text at any time. However, only Japanese voices will be supported.

Fire Emblem Heroes – Rulers of the Laguz summoning event starts this week, trailer

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have unveiled Rulers of the Laguz as the next summoning event in Fire Emblem Heroes. Tibarn, Leanne, Reyson, and Nailah will be featured. They all originate from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen confirmed for physical release in Japan

Capcom revealed earlier today that Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is heading to Switch. While a physical version is a bit of a question mark overseas, we have confirmation that a retail copy is planned for Japan.
There will actually be a few different physical versions. A standard copy will set buyers back 3,990 yen. There’s also a 4,990 yen Collector’s Package with a mini soundtrack and a (roughly) 25,000 yen Complete Edition with a pendant.
Japan will also have Joy Mech Fight as one of its Nintendo Switch Online games this month

A short while ago, Nintendo revealed its January lineup for the Nintendo Switch Online subscription. All regions will be receiving Zelda II – The Adventure of Link and Blaster Master. However, Japan will actually be getting a third game: Joy Mech Fight.
Joy Mech Fight, a fighting title, never left Japan. You may recognize its main character from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sukapon appears in the latest Smash Bros. entry as an Assist Trophy.
