Switch demos

Thousands of games are currently available on Switch, and there are a ton of demos out there for many of them. Not just Nintendo, but also third-parties are offering demos. We’ve now put together a comprehensive list of what’s out there.

Since our reader base is English-speaking, that’s what we’re focusing on here. In other words, we’re highlighting Switch demos that you can find in North America and Europe. Japan has a few extra demos on its end, but a majority of them are for titles that are not currently being sold in the west and are only playable in Japanese.

Nintendo Switch 2 missed out on the recent launch of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, but Sonic series producer Takashi Iizuka says that the game will use the “full capability” of the system.

Technically, you can play the title on Nintendo’s latest console through backwards compatibility with the Switch 1 release. However, there should be benefits with the proper Nintendo Switch 2 version.

In a recent interview, Danganronpa 2×2 producer Shohei Sakakibara commented on why Spike Chunsoft decided to remake the series’ second game rather than going with Danganronpa 1.

It turns out that revisiting the original Danganronpa was actually considered at one point. However, it seems Spike Chunsoft was concerned about disrupting things as “the story of 1 was the root of the Daganronpa games”.

Sakakibara told Japanese outlet Famitsu:

Earlier in the year, Nintendo Today was announced and released. This is Nintendo’s own app intended to keep fans in the know about various happenings with the company. More recently, some pretty important news has even be shared there before it’s delivered elsewhere. We’ve seen things like Nintendo Directs announced there first, and this week, that’s where the “Close to You” videos debuted.

Nintendo is clearly trying to do what it can to incentivize fans to check out the Nintendo Today app. In fact, the second “Close to You” video has still yet to appear on Nintendo’s own YouTube channels (though we did upload it here). Still, it seems like there hasn’t been a whole lot of interest in the app.

So what are your thoughts on Nintendo Today? Have you downloaded it / used it at all? Let us know in the comments.

Thanks to Ocean Drive Studio and Kakao Games, we’ve got the launch trailer for Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch. The game, which features a mix of grid-based tactics with the fast-paced intensity of a roguelite, debuted this week for Nintendo Switch players.

Those interested in learning more can read the following rundown:

File this one under slightly random, but fans have noticed that the new Nintendo Switch version of Super Mario Galaxy has replaced one of its NPCs.

In the Wii original, Starship Mario had a specific Toad you could interact with to deposit Starbits. This allowed players to transfer the currency across save files. That Toad is now gone though (as relayed by Jhay), and is replaced by a different one that tells you how to use amiibo.
