We stopped posting Masahiro Sakurai’s Smash Bros. “Pic of the Day” from Miiverse when the Wii U title launched in Europe. However, Sakurai continued for just a little while longer.
Now that Smash Wii U is out in its final major region – Japan – posts have now officially come to a close. In honor of that, we’ll share Sakurai’s last message.

This week’s issue of Famitsu offers up new details about PoPoLoCrois Farm Story. Find the latest information below, as translated by Siliconera.
– Game begins with a celebration of young prince Pietro’s 10th birthday
– Start off in Popolocrois Kingdom
– Pietro had decided to visit his friend Narcia for the first time in a long while
– Pietro goes to the forest with a present for Narcia after listening to advice from a castle soldier named Gomel
– Pietro encounters an older witch named Guilda in the forest
– “Dark Beasts” have been appearing in Popolocrois even though it’s supposed to be a peaceful place
– A beautiful lady known as Marmella shows up during Pitro’s birthday
– Marmella: diplomat from a land called “Galariland”
– Marmella’s her land seems to have the countermeasure that could save Popolocrois Kingdom from the Dark Beasts
– Pietro heads off Galariland in hopes of finding a way to fight the Dark Beasts
– Galariland has all 4 seasons
– Get strawberries and tulips in the spring
– Sunflowers in the summer
– Pumpkins and eggplant in the fall

Japan gets Mario Kart 8 McDonald’s toys as well, plus other goodies

McDonald’s isn’t leaving Japan out of the Mario Kart 8 toy fun. Starting today, those who purchase a Happy Meal can receive a Mario visor or toy for Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, and Toad.
Additional goodies will be given out throughout the month, too. There’s a reversible poster (available on the 6th and 7th), stickers (on the 13th and 14th), and a Christmas card (on the 20th and 21st).

Shovel Knight sales top 300,000 units

Total Shovel Knight sales have surpassed 300,000 units, Yacht Club Games has announced. That number is across all available platforms – Wii U, 3DS, and PC.
Yacht Club wrote on Twitter:
Shovel Knight has surpassed 300k copies! A hearty "Thank You" to all Shovel Knight players out there! pic.twitter.com/g29O3FAROu

Yacht Club revealed back in August that Shovel Knight had sold 180,000 copies in its first month.
