Super Mario World localization prototype shared

Forest of Illusion has secured a little piece of Nintendo history having shared a prototype build from the localized version of Super Mario World. It has a date of October 25, 1990, which was nearly a year before the game launched in North America.
A number of debugging features are included, which made localization easier for developers. For instance, Mario can access any point of the map without completing the previous stage. Also, when the timer hits zero, he doesn’t die. Other features include being able to instantly complete a level, toggling between different colored Yoshis, cycling through power-ups inside a stage, and moving Mario anywhere on the screen.

A severe vulnerability known as ENLBufferPwn has been found in various Switch, 3DS, and Wii U games. PabloMK7, Rambo6Glaz, Fishguy6564 were credited for the discovery. The vulnerability, first uncovered in 2021, was already reported to Nintendo.
The exploit is especially significant since a victim’s device can be easily taken over. This can be done merely by having an online game session with an attacker. Given the 9.8/10 (Critical) score it received in the CVSS 3.1 calculator, that goes to show how serious it is.

Marvel’s Super Hero Squad DS was first planned as Smash Bros.-style game
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 0 comments
The DS version of Marvel’s Super Hero Squad was at one point planned as a Smash Bros.-style game before contractual obligations got in the way. That information comes from Luke Muscat, who worked on the project.
Developer Halfbrick was working with THQ, the game’s publisher, at the time. The title was initially intended to be a brawler, but THQ asked the team to pivot and make it more like Smash Bros. instead. Halfbrick seemed pretty excited about the idea, though had to throw out some previous work. Blocking, rolling, and dodging were all a part of the core gameplay.
