Forbidden Magna producer on the game’s origins
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 2 Comments
Wondering how Forbidden Manga came to be? Prior to Neverland’s closure, the studio was asked if they were interested in making another Rune Factory or moving on to something completely different. As we now know, the latter option was chosen.
Producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto told Siliconera the following about Forbidden Magna’s origins:
“It’s human nature that when you work on the same thing over and over, you want to branch out and do something different. We asked the Rune Factory team if they wanted to create another Rune Factory or if they wanted to branch out and create something else. They said they wanted to challenge themselves with something else and that was the beginning of Forbidden Magna.”

A new distribution has kicked off for Pokemon X/Y. Starting today, players can download a special “Super-Size Pumpkaboo” through Wi-Fi.
By getting involved with the distribution, you can qualify for the Trick-or-Treat Friendly Online Competition. Each participant’s Battle Box must include a Super-Size Gourgeist. The easiest way to find this Gourgeist is by obtaining a Super-Size Pumpkaboo in Pokemon X/Y, and then trading it to have it evolve into the battle-ready Gourgeist.

Sakurai on the removal of character transformations in Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS, online lag
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 17 Comments
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS marks the first time in which there are no character transformations. Zelda, for instance, transformed into Sheik in previous games.
In his latest Famitsu column, Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai explains that the change came about due to limitations with the 3DS hardware.
He said:
“It’s basically due to the 3DS’ limitations. It was impossible to have both characters exist together [as one] on 3DS.”
“However, reaching that limit can sometimes lead in good directions. Transforming characters had the drawback of ambiguous tactics and such, and I believe that they have become more fresh now.”

Nintendo and Super Smash Bros. join The Tailgate Tour
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 0 comments
REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Is a Buckeye a better brawler than a Wolverine? What would a Gator’s final smash against a Bulldog look like? Nintendo will help answer some of these questions, as the latest Super Smash Bros. games join The Tailgate Tour.
Nintendo is bringing the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS games to top college football tailgate stops across the South and Midwest regions of the United States through the end of November. Before the players hit the gridiron, fans from rival schools will be able to settle it in Smash by competing in head-to-head matches, playing their own part in these classic rivalries. Nintendo will be keeping score as fans compete, with a visual display indicating whether the home or away team has the edge with the Super Smash Bros. action. A demo version of the Wii U version of the game will be used to pit fans of the rival school against one another, while the Nintendo 3DS game will be focused on letting friends settle their scores.
