10 of our favorite 3DS and Wii U online games
Posted on 8 months ago by Ethan in 3DS, Features, Wii U | 0 comments
The 3DS and (to a smaller extent) the Wii U are some of Nintendo’s most beloved systems of all time. Both got off to something of a slow start, but the 3DS eventually steered itself back on-track and became a success. The same can’t be said for the Wii U, but both consoles are home to top-quality games. With online services shutting down for these platforms, we figured now would be a good time to list ten of our favorite games with online functionality in no particular order.

Easy Shiny Pokemon to catch before Pokemon Bank closes
Posted on 8 months ago by Ethan in 3DS, DS, Guides | 0 comments
It’s not too long now until the near-complete closure of the Nintendo 3DS’ online services in April. Though most online games are closing their doors, Pokemon Bank is sticking around for a little while longer. That being said, we have no idea when exactly it will close – but we’d estimate it won’t be around for more than another year. If you’re looking to pad out your collection with some easy Shiny Pokemon, we’ve put together a list of easier Shiny hunts you can do before Pokemon Bank closes sometime in the near future. They all take place in past Pokemon games, and we’ll be including lots of different games here.

Shiny Celebi hunting guide before Pokemon Bank closes
Posted on 9 months ago by Ethan in 3DS, Guides | 0 comments
A while back, we put together a big list of Shiny Pokemon that will become unobtainable after Pokemon Bank closes. Shiny Celebi is one such Pokemon, and it’s only available via Pokemon Crystal on the 3DS Virtual Console.
Given that the eShop has closed its doors to new purchases, this means the only legitimate way to get a Shiny Celebi at all (outside of Pokemon GO) is to have already purchased and installed Pokemon Crystal on your 3DS.

Former Nintendo staffer shares insight into Reggie’s famous 3DS line from first Nintendo Direct
Posted on 9 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime generated plenty of memes during his time with the company, including a line from the very first US Nintendo Direct. For those who hadn’t already owned a 3DS or weren’t thinking about picking one up, he had a simple question to those consumers: “What’s wrong with you?” You can check out that clip here.
Former Nintendo staffer Krysta Yang shared some insight into that moment during an episode of the Kit & Krysta podcast. It wasn’t just a throwaway line as the team working on the Nintendo Direct had some discussions about it. However, they felt that the envelope needed to be pushed a bit and wouldn’t be out of character for Reggie to say, so it was ultimately approved.
