Zero Time Dilemma still on track for launch, but pre-order watches delayed a few weeks
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 4 Comments
Aksys Games held a promotion for Zero Time Dilemma that was planned to provide fans with a special watch if they pre-ordered at Amazon or GameStop. Unfortunately, we’re now hearing that they were damaged in transit.
So what does that mean? Aksys says that consumers will still receive the game, though watches won’t be available until a few weeks later. The publisher hopes to make it up to fans by providing a currently unspecified bonus.
Aksys posted on Twitter a little while ago:
ZTD preorder bonus game/watch bundles were damaged in transit. The watches were sent back to the factory, but game units are on time.

If you preordered ZTD w/ watch, you'll get the game, but the watches will be a few weeks behind. You WILL STILL GET YOUR WATCH.
— Aksys Games (@aksysgames) June 24, 2016
You'll get your bonus watch, and a bonus for the bonus being late. We're going to make this right. @Aksys_Danny can field all questions.

Level-5 on Yo-kai Watch sales and potential for big success overseas
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 6 Comments
The first Yo-kai Watch game did alright when it arrived in North America last year. However, it’s not quite the same sensation as it is in Japan currently.
Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino noted in an interview with The Verge that the series is on the same path as when it debuted in Japan a few years ago. Much like in the states, Yo-kai Watch only sold adequately. It was when the second entry released that the franchise really picked up steam, and Hino thinks something similar could happen overseas.
According to Hino:
“We have to understand that it takes time. But then at the same time we have to work as hard as we can to shorten the time as much as possible.”
“I think we’re following the same kind of sales trend as Japan. Meaning that our first game in Japan had OK sales, but it only became a huge phenomenon when we released the second game. I think our launch here in the US is kind of the ideal sales that we had expected.”
“For the markets where it takes more time, we have to change the messaging, trying to push the aspects that are more familiar to those markets. Not just push the game as-is, but pick the unique aspect that will be familiar.”
“We do believe that Yo-kai Watch can be as big of a social phenomenon [in the West] as it is in Japan.”

Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack – drama track CD, 3DS theme
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 1 Comment
Inti Creates held another live stream for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 on Niconico earlier today. During the broadcast, more was shared on Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 as well as Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, which will include the sequel and the original game.
A limited edition version of Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack will come with a drama CD. Here’s a summary from Skybane:
This [drama CD tells] a tale that happens a bit before the story of “Armed Blue Gunvolt”. It’s a prelude to the Japan invasion by the Multi-National Psychics Union “Eden” and its 7th Wave (Sevens) Psychics.
The country’s defenders, “Sumeragi”, fight hard battles against Eden, which seeks the destruction of the national defensive barrier – will Sumeragi be able to halt Eden’s advance? And the 3rd faction “Feather” gets involved as well…
Along with the drama CD, Inti Creates will include a download code for a new 3DS theme, pictured above. It’s named “Azure Thunderclap Gunvolt Striker Pack” and has a theme based on the package illustration plus the featured song “Concurrent World (Parallel World)” by Morpho. Those who purchase the standard version of Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack will be able to download the theme as well.

Hino also briefly discussed Level-5’s new cross-media project while showing concept art as well. He said, “you won’t go to space, this will be a very familiar story. An academy drama… perhaps?” The project is said to be shaping up very nicely and Level-5 has great expectations for it.
Here are a couple of pieces of concept art:

Dragon Quest XI may receive cross-save functionality between 3DS and PS4 with passwords
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 19 Comments
Square Enix held its Annual Shareholders’ Meeting earlier today. During the event, a question was asked about cross-save functionality between both versions of Dragon Quest XI.
Of course, Dragon Quest XI will be rather different on 3DS and PlayStation 4, and the two systems are from separate hardware manufacturers. Yet despite that, it still seems like Square Enix could implement some cross-save functionality between both games. The company’s Yu Miyake indicated that the “Spell of Restoration” may be used here to accomplish the feature.
Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii also mentioned last month that he wanted to bring back the Spell of Restoration in Dragon Quest XI. This refers to the classic password system used in the series’ early days.
Square Enix was also asked if new information about Dragon Quest XI will be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show and beyond. Miyake said they are considering it, and would like to share an update before the 30th anniversary is up.
Thanks to Jose for the tip.
