Last week, Retroism released Return of Double Dragon. The SNES game, originally from 1992, is the Japanese version of Super Double Dragon, which is now fully playable in English and expanded since its original version.

Video games don’t often make the best film adaptations. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is looking to break that feeling, as he’s directing the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film.

At Comic-Con this week, IGN asked Vogt-Roberts how he’d approach making a movie based on The Legend of Zelda. Here’s what he mentioned:

Located in Tokyo’s nerd Mecca, Akihabara, the Square Enix Café features a rotating menu and a variety of changing themes. This time around, from June 30 to August 10, the Switch exclusive Octopath Traveler is heavily featured with all sorts of limited edition merchandise, food and drinks inspired by the game, decorations and art. I visited the café in order to get first-hand impressions to share with our readers.

MercurySteam worked very closely with Nintendo on last year’s Metroid: Samus Returns. That wasn’t the first time the studio collaborated with a Japanese company, as Konami was present when the team was creating the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow games.

In a new interview, MercurySteam’s Enric Álvarez was asked about the differences in working with Japanese and western publishers. Álvarez specifically brought up Nintendo and stated that they value quality, polish, and player satisfaction above all else.

Registration numbers are in for this year’s EVO. Two Smash Bros. games are in the middle of the pack, with Wii U and Melee at 1,303 and 1,302 registrations respectively. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle also has 1,148 people signed up.

Nintendo and Moleskine have teamed up with a new limited edition series of Super Mario notebooks. The Big N provides the following information about what’s being offered:

Two pocket-sized notebooks reproduce the physical elements of the game: the cartridge which showcases a replica of the original label and the nostalgic and instantly recognizable Game Boy™ with its simple and easy to use buttons and original imagery. The two larger notebooks capture the screens of the early gameplay: one with a sky-blue background and the other with a black background featuring controller details (the highlighted buttons are those that make Mario jump).
