Quake update 1.6 Threewave Capture the Flag

A new 1.6 update has gone live for the original Quake on Switch, and it includes the Threewave Capture the Flag mod.

The mode maintains the mechanic of protecting your flag, stealing the enemy’s, and returning it to your own flag to score a point. However, power-up runes come into play to mix up the action. This version of Quake also includes an improved flag status and the maps have been visually updated.

Below are further details about the Quake 1.6 update featuring Threewave Capture the Flag:

According to Serebii, it has just been announced that Pokemon Shuffle, the free-to-play 3DS eShop Pokemon puzzle game, will be ending service on March 31 2023.  For the sake of clarity, this is exclusively affecting the 3DS version; no announcements have been made regarding the mobile versions of Pokemon Shuffle.

Even with the game’s online service ending, you’ll still be able to play through Standard Stages and any Event Stages already downloaded. What will be disabled, however, is the ability to acquire daily login bonuses, play Ranked Stages, and download Event Stages.

This news doesn’t come as a huge surprise given prior announcements of the Wii U and 3DS eShops ending purchases on March 27, 2023. If you want to be able to experience Pokemon Shuffle’s Event Stages on 3DS in the future, make sure to download them in the coming months.

Hot on the heels of the Sundae Tour wrapping up, a new Bowser Tour has just been announced for Mario Kart Tour. This Tour will introduce a third layout to GBA Bowser’s Castle as well as Wave 13 of the Mii Racing Suits, specifically adding in new Bowser and Dry Bowser suits for players to try out.

You can watch videos showcasing both the Bowser Tour and new wave of Mii Racing Suits below.

Wave Race 64 has just released for Nintendo Switch Online, and we can now take a look at how this version of the game compares visually to past iterations. In this Gamexplain video, the Switch version is first compared to the N64 original, before then being compared to the more modern Wii U version.

As is expected, the Switch version is certainly an improvement over the more jagged N64 original, and since Wii U ports of N64 games tended to make things a little darker, the Switch brightens it up in comparison to be truer to its initial release.
