Shigeru Miyamoto reflects on Wii, says it was special to him

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto reflected on Wii in a recent interview and mentioned that the console was particularly special to him.
While speaking with IGN, he said that the goal he and late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata had was to create something that anyone can play, regardless of their experience of games. Miyamoto noted how it makes him “happy to think that the population of people that play games increased because of the Wii.” That was in part thanks to the Wii Remote – a controller that anyone could use and understand fairly quickly.

The latest Nintendo Switch eShop charts for the week of January 18, 2025 are now available.
Super Mario Party Jamboree is still on top, but there’s one game that’s starting to give it a run for its money. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, which just came out on Thursday, is at #4. It’s possible that it could take Mario Party’s next spot next week, but we’ll need to wait and see if that actually happens.

Turn-based strategy game Eldrador Creatures: Shadowfall coming to Nintendo Switch

Wild River Games and Schleich are putting Eldrador Creatures: Shadowfall on Nintendo Switch, the two companies have announced. It will be available digitally on March 6, 2025 with a physical edition following on April 11.
Eldrador Creatures is a turn-based strategy game in which players battle for the fate of the magical worlds. You’ll lead battle-ready creatures while attempting to defeat a mysterious shadowy menace.
