Sonic Superstars classic gameplay

If there’s one thing Sonic Superstars needs to nail, it’s the gameplay – including the controls and physics. Series producer Takashi Iizuka has now shared some comments that seem to point that things are heading in the right direction.

In an interview with IGN, Iizuka mentioned that the development team started out by replicating the classic gameplay the franchise is known for “very precisely”. That should come as somewhat of a relief to fans wondering about how Sonic Superstars feels, especially as games such as Sonic the Hedgehog 4 received criticism when it came to the physics.

Atlus is developing a Persona 3 remake titled Persona 3 Reload, and a Switch version has now been spotted.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you probably heard the news that trailers for two Persona games leaked. We held off on posting as you can never know what Atlus will do with the Persona series on Nintendo platforms, but now that there’s some Switch news in the mix, we can at least mention it.

According to Sonic producer Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Superstars will only feature new levels. The game will not be bringing back stages from past titles.

If there’s one thing we’ve seen from the Sonic series over the years, it’s been the reliance on levels going back to the franchise’s earliest days. At this point, fans are used to seeing areas like Green Hill Zone. However, in Sonic Superstars, it’ll be new content only.

Speaking with IGN, Iizuka explained the decision to offer new stages only in Sonic Superstars rather than past levels:

On this week’s episode we discussed the recent reveal of Everybody 1-2 Switch, Vanpool shutting down, and the Nintendo of Russia drama. We also talked about Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 and the new Rune Factory announcements. There’s that and more on the latest episode of Nintendo Everything Refresh.

Switch female users US

Based on data provided by Circana’s PlayerPulse, 52 percent of Switch consoles are female owned in the United States. Circana was previously known as NPD and provides monthly sales figures in the region.

You might be curious as to how Switch’s number compares to other platforms. Nintendo’s console has the highest amount of female users, but 50 percent of gaming PCs are female owned. The next closest is Xbox Series with 45 percent. PlayStation 5 is the lowest at 41 percent. Again, this applies to the United States only.

Happy Game Pilgrims Switch physical

Super Rare Games is teaming up with Amanita Design on a new Switch physical release bringing fans a two-games-on-one-cartridge bundle, with Happy Game and Pilgrims getting a physical release on the platform for the first time.

There’ll be 4,000 copies with a reversible cover and 2,000 copies of each sealed variant. The Happy Game and Pilgrims 2-in-1 Switch physical release includes the game on a physical cartridge, a reversible cover, a full-color manual, an exclusive sticker, and two sets of trading cards. Those who buy two copies of the game are guaranteed two sealed copies of the games with both covers.

New data from Europe has revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was the best-selling game of May. Nintendo’s exclusive sold 2.5x the second placed title, Hogwarts Legacy.

Tears of the Kingdom is the third best-selling game of the year across Europe after just three weeks, with FIFA 23 and Hogwarts Legacy only doing more – for now. If we’re strictly looking at physical since Nintendo doesn’t report digital sales, Zelda is indeed already the top game in Europe.
