Gone Home no longer in the works for Wii U as all console ports are now shelved
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 20 Comments
It was revealed last August that Gone Home would be coming to Wii U. Midnight City, Majesco’s indie publishing label, was in charge of handling the port.
The lack of news since then was never an encouraging sign, and designer Steve Gaynor has now confirmed that Gone Home’s console ports have been shelved. The game “is not actively in development any longer” for consoles, Gaynor confirmed during a Kinda Funny Games live stream. Additionally, Fullbright’s “deal with Majesco has sadly come to an end.”
Gaynor’s comments in full:
And, unfortunately, we don’t have exciting, good news about that, I wish I did. Yeah, it’s been quite a while, and as you kind of sensed, there’s been some delays and maybe you have seen some things that have changed with Majesco. At this point, unfortunately, I have to acknowledge that Gone Home for console is not actively in development any longer. That deal with Majesco has sadly come to an end. So, we don’t really know what that means for Gone Home for console for us. In the immediate term, it’s no longer a going thing.
Fullbright does appear to still be interested in bringing Gone Home to consoles. For now though, the team is working on its next game known as Tacoma.

Square Enix has created a new Dragon Quest X collaboration that features an item from Bravely Second. Fans can obtain the flower Magnolia Arch wears.
Getting the item is simple. 3DS owners need to play through the Bravely Second demo, open the Dragon Quest X Convenient Tool For Adventurers On the Go application, and select the option to receive a gift. The flower will then appear in the Dragon Quest X post office.

Has Meme Run been removed from the North American Wii U eShop? At the moment, that appears to be the case.
There’s no sign of the game on the eShop. Its Miiverse community is gone as well. However, Meme Run is still listed on Nintendo’s website.
We’ll keep track of the situation, and will update this post if any additional information comes in.

Additional production of amiibo happening in Japan
Posted on 10 years ago by Dennis Gagliardotto(@LyonHart_) in General Nintendo, News | 7 Comments
If you’ve been paying any attention to the amiibo market since its launch, you’re probably aware of the scarcity of them. Nintendo is aware also, and though the shortage has been hugely a North American problem due to port strikes, Europe and Japan have had their woes with a few characters in particular – Villager, Little Mac, and Captain Falcon.
A new batch of Villager, Little Mac, and Captain Falcon amiibo are set to be shipped in mid-May in Japan. Nintendo mentions that the assembly process for manufacturing amiibo can take quite some time, some even needing to be done by hand, and can take a few months until shipments are made from the beginning of production, which is why demand can’t be met right away.
Before closing their message, Nintendo says “it should be noted that depending on the presence or absence of amiibo in the future, we will consider adding production on a case-by-case basis. We will of course also listen to the demand of the consumers.”
Let’s hope there’s enough for people to enjoy this time around. Captain Falcon more so than Little Mac and Villager since his amiibo also unlocks content in Mario Kart 8, while the others don’t really do much outside of Super Smash Bros. at the moment.
