Dragon Takers gameplay

A new round of gameplay is now available for Dragon Takers. This marks the latest RPG from Kemco, which appeared on Nintendo Switch this week.

As a reminder, here’s what to expect from the title:

Okami origins Hideki Kamiya

In a recent social media post, Okami creator Hideki Kamiya spoke about the game’s original concept, including how the initial idea was a side-scroller.

According to Kamiya, the very beginning of his idea involved playing as the leader of a pack of wolves, living on a deserted island, and trying to survive in nature. He was inspired by a particular book he saw while in university.

Nintendo made its first announcement regarding Switch 2 last week, but there’s still a lot to learn about the system. However, there is one concrete detail we know: it’ll be full backwards compatible with the current Nintendo Switch. There’ll be some exceptions – probably things like Nintendo Labo – but on the whole there’ll probably be just a handful of titles that aren’t compatible.

Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact Kite

The latest Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact character trailer just went live, and now we’ve got a look at Kite.

Kite, who is voiced by Shuichi Ikeda, is known for using a variety of projectiles to control the tide of battle. He’s able to use the “Silent Waltz” Aura Art to tear through enemy defenses and perform immediate consecutive attacks. In the manga and anime, Kite is a character that Gon feels a strong connection to.

Sword of the Necromancer Resurrection trailer

Grimorio of Games is promoting the new launch of the action RPG Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection with a trailer. This is a 3D remake of the original title.

Nintendo has updated the Japanese release schedule on Nintendo Switch for the week of January 30, 2025. Here’s a look at the upcoming digital download schedule:


NPR recently caught up with Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone, who addressed the game’s future.

There are two sides to the coin here. First, Barone acknowledged that he has some caution as overloading the game with too much content, which could be “detrimental”. But even if he decides to end support at some point, he doesn’t want to definitively close the book – “even 50 years from now,” he said.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake February 2025 update

Koei Tecmo announced a fairly substantial update for Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake this week. It’s unclear when exactly it’s going live, but the company is planning it for February.

A number of feature expansions and adjustments are planned. These are related to voices, settings, AI in combat, loading times, and more. Plus, there’s a bunch of fixes coming.
