SteamWorld Dig 2

Kotaku caught up with Image & Form CEO Brjann Siegurgeirsson for a look back on the original SteamWorld Dig as well as its sequel. While speaking with the site, Siegurgeirsson revealed that the first game has sold over one million copies collectively.

One reason that SteamWorld Dig did so well is Nintendo’s promotion of the game. Siegurgeirsson spoke about how having it featured in a Nintendo Direct a few years ago boosted visibility:

Box Hedge Games has pulled back the curtain on an interesting-looking project lined up for Nintendo platforms. The developer is currently planning Super Mighty Power Man for both Switch and 3DS.

Super Mighty Power Man is a 2D action-platformer that takes some clear inspiration from Mega Man. Other prominent games and series like Castlevania, Duck Tales, Kirby, Super Mario Bros., and Shovel Knight also served as reference points. The team itself joined together in 2016 with co-founders Alessandro Di Meco and David Richier having previously contributed to games such as Test Drive Unlimited, Kinect Disneyland Adventure, and Assassin’s Creed.

We’re aware that Box Hedge is working on a Kickstarter for Super Mighty Power Man. We’ve reached out to the studio to clarify how that campaign will impact development, if at all.

Pinball FX3 is coming to Switch, Zen Studios has announced. The company intends to have the game ready on November 14.

On Switch, Pinball FX3 will have some exclusive features. Vertical play orientation and HD Rumble will be supported, too. With the inclusion of cross-play, Switch players can take on opponents competing on most other platforms where Pinball FX3 is available.

Pinball FX3 will be free to download with the Sorcerer’s Lair table. A total of thirty tables are available at launch, with more content and features planned for the future.

The following tables will be sold at launch:

During a Flyhigh Express broadcast today, a Japanese release date for Teslagrad on Switch was confirmed. It’ll be out on the eShop beginning November 16. We expect that Teslagrad will also be available in North America and Europe at around the same time.

Following a few delays, Morphite is finally launching on Switch this week. Take a look at some footage in the video below.

A few days ago, we learned that the music creation tool KORG Gadget is coming to the Switch in 2018. While KORG Gadget has found a niche on the DS and 3DS family as well as some Apple platforms, not much is known about the Switch release.

Maybe this will clear things up. A mini website has been released today specifically for Switch news updates. You can access that website here.

It is implied that the website will be updated as more news rolls out, but for now it’s pretty bare-bones. Either way, it is good to know that all Switch updates for this software will be collected in one place.
