Wii U

System: Wii U
Release date: April 22, 2016
Developer: Nintendo / PlatinumGames
Publisher Nintendo

During E3 2014, Nintendo showed off a couple of demos that were meant to highlight some of the more unique uses of the Wii U GamePad. Two years later, fans would hear nothing about either of them until the March Nintendo Direct of this year where it was announced that one of the demos, Project Guard, had been completed. Enter Star Fox Guard, a companion game to coincide with the release of the newest entry in the Star Fox series, Star Fox Zero. Nintendo’s spin-off games of popular franchises have proven to be hit-or-miss over the years, so just how well does this title fare?

Polygon has put up the latest video in its “Devs Make Mario” series. In today’s feature, La-Mulana and La-Mulana 2 director Takumi Naramura creates a level in the game. View it below.

Naramura’s Super Mario Maker level is located on the official bookmark site here.

Spike Chunsoft published a second Zero Time Dilemma trailer in Japanese a few hours ago. Aksys has now uploaded the English version, which you can find below.

A new batch of Nintendo Selects just recently came out in Europe. Find a promo for the various releases below.

Plenty of reviews for both Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard are starrting to flood in. We’re rounding up the early verdicts below.
