Television and video analytics firm Ace Metrix surveyed over 500 TV viewers to rate holiday themed ads that aired between September 1 and December 15. Ads were scored on various aspects such as persuasion, likeability, information, attention, change, relevance, desire and watchability.

Nintendo’s Wii U holiday “Dad Loses” commercial came out on top, having scored 23.2 percent above the norm for other ads in its category.

Bandai Namco has now added two additional tracks to Taiko: Drum Master Extra Large Serving (Taiko no Tatsujin) for Wii U.

Available as free DLC players can now download two new songs from Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games; “Challenge Medley” and “Love X Love Whistle” by Polyphonic Branch featuring Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin.

Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii won’t be directing Dragon Quest X Version 3. At Jump Festa, Horii explained that he’s “busy” working on the franchise’s next entry, Dragon Quest XI. It’s currently unknown who exactly is directing X’s upcoming expansion.

Well-known reviews aggregator Metacritic posted a comprehensive breakdown of 2014’s best video games. In terms of brand new titles, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U was the highest-rated release with a total score of 92 out of 100.
