Here we go once again with yet another Nintendo Switch 2 update, this time involving GameStop. This is the first time that a major retailer has now entered the ring.
Reddit user Opposite-Chemistry96 shared an image today showing that accessory SKUs are now listed in GameStop’s internal system. 256GB and 512GB versions are popping up for microSD Express Cards. Other peripherals include a Joy-Con charger grip, gaming cases, and temper glass. No release date is listed.
The lineup for Evo 2025 will be officially revealed next week, but it seems that the news has leaked early. A thumbnail for the announcement show was found on YouTube, seemingly outing all of the major games that will be featured at the fighting tournament.
A few different games found on Nintendo Switch will be at Evo 2025, including Mortal Kombat 1. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 also looks to be on tap – that makes sense given the release of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics a little while back.
It’s been a long time coming, but the Nintendo Switch version of Bang-On Balls: Chronicles will finally receive the “Wild West” update next week. The patch goes live on January 17, 2025.
This update previously made it to the PC version last May. Players will be able to explore five new regions, ranging from the dusty saloons to the treacherous oil fields. Also included are tons of new items to collect, including classic revolvers and shotguns, sneaky bows and arrows, and even a lasso.
Here’s some additional information:
January 2: Some fans have been dying to see a new Punch-Out!! game – be it on Nintendo Switch or its successor. However, it looks like the wait will continue, and even if another entry happens, it may not be from Next Level Games.
Imran Khan, who writes for Venture Beat and is also with Kinda Funny Games (who previously leaked Everybody 1-2 Switch before it was announced), recently made a post on ResetEra claiming that he caught up with someone from “a studio close to Punch-Out” and heard that the characters in the Wii title received backlash relating to stereotypes, and the response was more than had been expected. It seems that following that, Nintendo more or less decided to pull the plug on continuing the franchise further.

Fans are always anticipating a Pokemon Presents presentation to go along with Pokemon Day, and it looks like another event is planned for 2025.
X user mattyoukhana_ conducted a Pokemon GO datamine and noticed a particular piece of code that has now appeared. It’s pretty clear that based on what’s stated, we’re on tap for a new Pokemon Presents 2025 broadcast on Pokemon Day. Obviously that isn’t surprising given what’s happened in years past, but we’ll take it regardless.
Another Arcade Archives game is about to drop on Nintendo Switch, and this time fans can look forward to Vs. Family Tennis. A worldwide release is set for tomorrow, January 9.
Namco was behind the original title having launched it in 1987. Here’s an official overview, courtesy of Hamster:
Thanks to publisher Dear Villagers and developer Exalted Studio, we’ve got a release date for Big Helmet Heroes. The title arrives for Nintendo Switch on February 5, 2025.
Big Helmet Heroes, a beat ’em up adventure game, was originally planned for last year. However, it ended up seeing a delay. It now looks like it’s about a month out from launching.
