Nintendo has informed us that Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games does not have a confirmed release date even though a recent message said otherwise.
The upcoming title was thought to be released in North America on November 8th. A few days ago, the company sent Wii U owners a notification with the date, stating fans would “be able to purchase and download this game at midnight on November 8th”.
However, Nintendo has since said that the November 8th mention was “an error.”
In a statement provided to us, the company said:
“The Nov. 8 launch date for Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games that was recently listed in a Wii U notification was an error. A confirmed launch date will be announced in the future. We apologize for any confusion.”
With Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl launching next week, there’s no better time than now to familiarize yourself with the series. Amazon has the franchise’s latest entry, Etrian Odyssey IV, on sale for just $20. The game normally costs $40, so you’d be saving $20 (or 50%).
