Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has offered his opinion on a few important topics. He recently discussed on Nintendo’s lack of interest surrounding the next-gen console race, its plans to return to profitability, and the need to make Wii U’s pricing right. Iwata even took a few moments to comment on those who tend to have doubts about Nintendo’s products.

Nintendo has today opened a full-fledged website for New Super Mario Bros. 2. As you can see, it’s no longer in a teaser state.
Perhaps the most interesting addition to the site is a “Worldwide Coin Total”. If you have SpotPass enabled, your coin count will be added to the overall total on the New Super Mario Bros. 2 site. Nintendo asks, “How high do you think it will go? Let’s find out together!”
Thanks to Andrew S for the tip.
Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition is now out in Japan. Photos of the lovely package have been posted above.
Level-5 has opened an official website for its 3DS RPG Fantasy Life. You can access the site here.
The page contains a bunch of already-shown screenshots, an old trailer, and gameplay bits.
One random note: it’s mentioned that one of the title’s elements, “My Room”, will allow you to build up your room and expand it into something larger.
Nintendo’s Japanese division has officially announced the sale of downloadable 3DS retail titles. Starting on July 28, consumers can buy New Super Mario Bros. 2 (4,800 yen) and Onitore (3,800 yen) as digital releases.
Three options are available for such purchases:
1. 3DS owners can pick up a download card from retailers and then apply it on the eShop
2. Purchase a download code from online shops and then redeem it on the eShop
3. Make a purchase on the eShop directly
Those who download New Super Mario Bros. 2 or Onitore will receive a few bonuses.
If the purchase is made before September 2, consumers will receive “Donkey Kong Original Edition” through Club Nintendo. The Pie Factory stage is included in the title. Club Nintendo members will also be rewarded with twice the amount of points for their game registrations and an extra twenty points if both New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Onitore are downloaded.
Helios Interactive was once working on a Spyro MMORPG for the Wii along with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The game, titled “Spyro Kingdom”, would have continued the events from The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. Players could create their own dragon, take on quests, decorate their cave, and level up. Helios was planning on including Spyro, Cynder and Sparx as NPCs.
For whatever reason(s), Activision decided not to pursue the project after Helios presented a working demo and production art.
A couple more Spyro Kingdom videos have been posted below;.
This is a big year for Kingdom Hearts. The series is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and one could argue that Kingdom Hearts 3D is the first “true” follow-up to KHII.
Given the amount of convoluted plots and storylines that have been made over the past decade, it could be intimidating for new players to step inside the Kingdom Hearts universe. Square Enix’s Tai Yasue commented on this and more in a new interview.
Head past the break to read up on what Yasue had to say.
