Nintendo’s latest maintenance schedule for the week of July 16, 2023 is now available. A bunch of different sessions have been added – probably the most we’ve seen in awhile. Switch will be impacted in various ways throughout the rest of the month, but that extends to 3DS and Wii U a bit as well.
The full maintenance schedule for the week of July 16, 2023 is as follows:
The Switch remake of Psychic 5 Eternal will be released in the west with an English localization, according to an eShop listing. Daewon Media will be in charge of publishing.
Psychic 5 Eternal was announced for Switch last September, but only in Japan. It’s a remake of the 1987 arcade game with new modes, a new 16:9 screen ratio and support for two players. Fans can also choose between the updated graphics and original visuals.
System Era Softworks has announced the latest update for Astroneer, which is highlighted by a new Custom Games Mode. It will be available on Switch later this month.
With Custom Games, players can start an adventure on any planet with their own custom configurations, then share them with friends. The update will also include some bug fixes.

Atelier has been around for over twenty five years, and even though it’s only felt like it’s really started to take off in the last five or so, it’s had a rich history with its slice-of-life RPG experience that is as cozy as it is adventurous and riveting. With the success of recent titles like Atelier Ryza and Atelier Sophie 2, the series has grown exponentially in both detail and scope. However, it’s the humble beginnings that really define how and why the franchise is so unique and special. Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg now brings the series’ debut title to the modern day in a gorgeous fashion, and does so in such a grandiose way that it’s a contender for being the best Atelier game in some time and on Switch.
Court records show that a Switch system helped the FBI in its search to find a missing 15-year-old girl in Arizona last summer.
The unnamed teen disappeared in Virginia on August 3, 2022. ABC reports that Ethan Roberts, who was 28 at the time, “befriended her on the internet, traveled to Virginia to get her, and later forced her into child pornography.” However, Roberts did allow her to bring her Switch console – which eventually led to her return.
Nintendo has gradually been looking to make the Expansion Pack tier for Nintendo Switch Online seem more appealing. Initially, the service only provided access to N64 and SEGA Genesis games plus the Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC. Since then it has added GBA titles plus access to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass and Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion.
This October, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will be around for two years. We’re curious – how many of you have subscribed to the service? If you have, what do you find to be the most appealing about it? If you haven’t, are you a member of the base Nintendo Switch Online subscription? Let us know in the comments below.
