Release date: September 8, 2017
Developer: Capcom / Marvelous

To be quite frank, Monster Hunter Stories came as a surprise to me. I didn’t look too much into what the game was before trying it out, because with all my previous Monster Hunter experience I should be fine, right? Upon starting the game, I only knew fragments of information from the announcement trailer. But once my time with Monster Hunter Stories began, the game subverted my expectations, and it became clear that this wasn’t such a bad thing.

Nintendo has uploaded a new Monster Hunter Stories trailer to promote the international release of the game. Monster Hunter Stories is available tomorrow on the 3DS.

Capcom opened the official Switch website for Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 today. File sizes for both games are included on the page.

First up, Resident Evil Revelations requires 13GB of free space. Resident Evil Revelations 2 doubles that at 26GB. With the second game, since it won’t fit within Switch’s internal memory, a separate microSD card will be needed if you intend to purchase the game.

Capcom is releasing Resident Evil Revelations Collection on Switch later this year. Japan is getting something similar, but also planned is a standalone retail version of the first entry as well.

Meanwhile, below are screenshots of both games on Switch:

Following several other developers and publishers, Capcom has now also revealed its lineup of games for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which starts in two weeks (thanks to Gematsu for the translation). Capcom isn’t bringing a whole lot of games in general, and only three that are on Nintendo systems – Monster Hunter Stories, to showcase its 1.2 update, and both Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2 on Switch, all of which will be playable on the show floor.

Nintendo and Capcom sadly decided against bringing the Monster Hunter Stories amiibo west. However, all of the figures from Japan work with the game, and can be used to unlock special Monstie eggs. IGN shows them all off below.

Early information out of this week’s Famitsu reveals a Japanese release date for Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2 on Switch. Both are slated for November 30.

In the west, Capcom will likely be offering Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 at around the same time. The company intends to publish both games at retail under the name Resident Evil Revelations Collection. The first game will be included on a cartridge, but Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a digital download.

YouTuber Slippy Slides has stumbled upon an interesting Easter Egg in Resident Evil 4. Some sort of mystery person is hidden away in one of the game’s areas, and he’s pretty tough to see normally.

Slippy Slides messed around with Resident Evil 4 a bit and managed to place the camera in a spot that shows this person in a slightly more clearer light. Yet even after that, the model is rather blurry. After going through the game’s files, Slippy Slides found out that it’s actually a 2D texture. Was it a developer who worked on the project way back in the day? Or something else entirely?

Amazon has a pre-order bonus for Monster Hunter Stories. If you reserve the game, you’ll receive the “Rider Set” comprised of four different monsters. Each one is pictured above.

You can place an order Monster Hunter Stories on Amazon here. Amazon will provide the DLC for all buyers who pre-order through September 8.

Tying in with the launch of Monster Hunter XX for Switch, Capcom prepared a special console bundle. See it unboxed below.
