Dead Cells Queen Sea DLC release date

The Queen & The Sea DLC for Dead Cells, which was announced at the end of November, has received new details – including a release date.

The big news is that The Queen & The Sea will launch on January 6, 2022. It’s described as “the most ambitious update to Dead Cells yet” with new Biome to explore, new weapons, and a powerful new boss to defeat. The DLC also ties together the narrative introduced in the first two DLCs (Fatal Falls & The Bad Seed).

Motion Twin and Evil Empire today unveiled the next piece of DLC for Dead Cells, titled The Queen & The Sea.

The upcoming content promises an ending to the route that the two previous DLCs started with The Bad Seed and Fatal Falls. It’s been teased that The Queen & The Sea “will offer the most generous content update yet” for the game. Players can look forward to a pair of new biomes, and “one won’t be the standard-issue Dead Cells level that you’re used to.” Those that make it through the challenge and defeat the Queen (an alternative final boss) will be able to check out a new ending.

Dead Cells Everyone is Here

Original (11/22): A special patch is coming to Dead Cells, with Motion Twin and Evil Empire revealing the “Everyone is Here” update.

As shown in the image above, Dead Cells is crossing over with some well-known Switch games. The lineup includes Blasphemous, Curse of the Dead Gods, Guacamelee, Hollow Knight, Hyper Light Drifter, and Skul: The Hero Slayer.

Dead Cells practice makes perfect

Motion Twin and Evil Empire are continuing their support for Dead Cells today with the game’s 25th update, Practice Makes Perfect. Switch owners can access the patch for free now.

Another major Dead Cells update is here. “What’s the Damage?”, otherwise known as version 1.14.0, just went live on Switch.

Today’s update includes balance changes, adjustments to existing biomes, and more. Specifically, the patch looks to rebalance weapons in order to bring weaker ones up to par with some of the stronger options. Over 90 changes have been made in total. Also worth mentioning is that the Derelict Distillery and Fatal Falls biomes have been updated with new rooms and adjustments in order to make them feel more alive than ever.

In celebration of Dead Cells’ new Fatal Falls DLC, Motion Twin and Evil Empire have created a new animated trailer. Check out the video below.

Dead Cells: Fatal Falls is out now on Switch for $4.99.

Over in Europe, it’s been announced that a new Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial is planned for Dead Cells. If you have a subscription to the service, you can play for free between January 26 and February 2.

Nintendo has not yet shared similar news for North America. We’ll be sure to let you know if that changes.
