A few days ago, HORI pulled back the curtain on a special Pikachu version of its Pokken Tournament controller for Japan. We weren’t sure at the time if it would be sold in North America, but now we have a clear answer.

A GameStop source tipped us off that the controller is now listed in the retailer’s database as “Wii U Pokken Pro Pad Pikachu”. Furthermore, it seems that pre-orders have opened. You can put down $5 at your local store to reserve the controller. It hasn’t appeared online as of now, but that should change at some point in the future.

GameStop lists a tentative May 7 release date in its database for the Pikachu version of the Pokken Tournament controller, though that can mean anything (not at all final). It’ll cost $29.99 at launch – just like the standard version.

Amazon has a listing up for a new Nintendo-licensed Animal Crossing 3DS pouch. It’s tentatively slated for May 31.

The pouch can hold a New 3DS XL, New 3DS, 3DS XL, or 3DS. It also has two pockets to hold Animal Crossing amiibo cards.

You can check out Amazon’s listing here.

Amazon Japan has a listing up for a new Splatoon Wii U GamePad protector from HORI. We received something similar in the west, but this design is a bit different. A cleaning cloth featuring the Squid Sisters is also included in the package.

Based on Amazon Japan’s listing, this product will be available on April 28. The normal price should be around 1,922 yen.

Update: This is already available at Best Buy. It does have an “Only at Best Buy” tag though, so I suppose it won’t be an exclusive any longer come next month!

Next month, a new amiibo travel case will be sold by HORI. Amazon lists a January 21 release date.

HORI’s case features retro Mario mystery block artwork, plus clear windows to display your amiibo collection. The officially-licensed product stores up to eight figures.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Amazon has opened up pre-orders for the HORI Pokken Tournament Pro Pad Limited Edition controller for Wii U. This item has been officially licensed by Nintendo/Pokemon, and is based on the official Pokken Tournament arcade cabinet controller.

Pre-orders can be placed on Amazon here. The item will apparently ship on March 18.

Europe just recently received the Animal Crossing amiibo cards Collectors Album. There are also plans to bring out a second edition next month. Unfortunately, Nintendo hasn’t made something similar widely available in North America.

That’s where HORI comes in. On December 7, the company will be putting out its own album which has been officially licensed by Nintendo. It allows amiibo fans to store up to 112 cards, with four pockets for the front and back on each page. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer artwork is also featured.

If you’re interested, pre-order the album on Amazon here. Pricing is set at $9.99.

Following up on its Splatoon GamePad Protector, HORI is bringing out another design based on Super Mario Maker. You can reserve the new accessory here..

The officially-licensed Nintendo protector naturally covers the front and back and protects it “from dirt, scratches, and wear with this hard plastic shell”. It will release on October 20 in North America.

In a couple of months, HORI will be releasing a Link-styled “Battle Pad” for Wii U.

The controller plugs into the Wii Remote and has short stroke L and R buttons, three Turbo settings, and a large d-pad. It should work with Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro supported titles and “most” Virtual Console games. Players can use it with games like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Kart 8.

Amazon lists the Link Battle Pad for release in North America on September 21 with a $27.99 price point. Europe is getting the controller in August.
