The Minotaur isn’t the only new indie game coming from Ratalaika Games. At some point in the future, the indie developer will also have Alien Dinosaurs on the Wii U and 3DS eShops, plus other platforms.

Alien Dinosaur is an arcade shooter in which players will take on enemies in different chambers, trying to escape from it. Ratalaika says that the following features are planned:

– Unique retro style action: Thanks to our artist and the simple mechanics, makes out game in something different, retro but fresh and with quick action.

– Story: Due to long hours spent watching low budget cinema and our madness, we have decided to create an unexpected story

– Develop your character: As you progress in the game you can change your character, so every time you play, it will be stronger and it could fight better against the T-rex

– Survival mode: Show who is boss and send all those enemies back to their graves. Survive as long as you can, kill everything you can and become a legend.

– Weapon arsenal: The player has a huge variety of weapons. From basic weapons like a gun or a shotgun to a mop or a fork, even laser weapons, there always should be a laser weapon on every house.

A release date for Alien Dinosaurs hasn’t been announced. While you wait for the game, view a trailer below.

The Minotaur is in development for Wii U (and PC), Ratalaika Games has announced. This is an action-puzzle game in which players need to kill minotaurs by moving blocks or crushing/enclosing them.

The Minotaur will feature the following modes in addition to classic single-player:

– Challenge Mode: There will be maps in which the player will need to kill the minotaurs respecting some parameters, reduced number of blocks, or movements for example.
– Co-op mode (Local): This mode actually exists in the original game, but we have also taken our version. We could also play with a friend in local mode to kill the minotaurs.
– VS Mode (Local): A player will control the minotaur while another control the human, they have to kill each other.

Along with the modes above, an online mode is said to be in consideration.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In the latest video, Kit and Krysta complete their playthough of Year Walk. Check it out below.

Next Thursday, Discovery will be joining the North American Wii U eShop. 128MB of free space is needed for the download. Once installed, that amounts drops down to 104MB.

The Next Penelope has long been planned for Wii U. Creator Aurelien Regard published a Tumblr blog concerning the core game’s development a few months back, which contains a little piece of information about the eShop version that slipped under the radar.

Regard wrote that Blitworks has been put in charge of bringing The Next Penelope to Nintendo’s system. This team has extensive porting experience, including the tough task of Bastion on PlayStation Vita. Regard says the Wii U version will be prioritized as Blitworks remakes the game from scratch in C++.

He said:

“It’s a relief: while I’m writing, the very talented studio Blitworks is currently totally rewriting Penelope from scratch to C++, and making a great port / remake on consoles. It’s a gigantic amount of work, and they will even publish it, prioritizing WiiU.”

On Thursday, indie developer Gnobsoftware will be releasing Molly Maggot on the North American Wii U eShop. Here’s a brief overview of the M-rated title:

“Play as Molly the maggot as she begins her life of decay flesh munching. WARNING a maggot life is a hard life. See how hard maggots have it as you defend yourself against other decay eaters and the corpses own body fighting back. Enjoy and explore an anatomy based map in story mode or try to make it through extra mode with randomly spawning exits. Both stages can be played in hard or if you dare extreme mode.”

Molly Maggot will be available for $1.99. View a trailer below.

Update: Stream is over. Thus far, I’m not seeing an archived version unfortunately…
