Level-5

The very first Professor Layton game debuted in Japan back on February 15, 2007. That’s right: the series is now ten years old.

In celebration of the milestone, Professor Layton now has its own Twitter account. You can keep track of any updates that may surface here.

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino had some fun with Professor Layton earlier today. It looks like he held a special event in Japan to promote the anniversary – here are a couple of photos:

Professor Layton won’t have a new title this year, but the series as a whole will. Level-5 will be publishing Lady Layton on 3DS sometime in 2017.

Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits & Fleshy Souls has been out in America since last fall, but they were yet to arrive to Europe. Now we finally received confirmation that both versions of the game will be coming to the European countries on April 7, so mark your calendars. See the official boxarts above.

Yo-Kai Watch 3: Sukiyaki has been updated to version 2.2 in Japan. The update includes the addition of two new Mystery S Rank Yo-kai, Shivarak and Nostradamus, along with the distribution of special quests that were previously only available at Universal Studios Japan. You will also receive either one or two 5-Star Coins when you update, depending on if you’re updating from version 2.0 or not.

Additionally, some images were released in the initial announcement. You can view them in the gallery below, and read the announcement post here.

Yo-kai Watch 3: Sukiyaki launched in Japan on December 15. Leading up to December 18, Media Create reports initial sales of 337,979 copies. Now we have additional information from the sales tracker.

Yo-kai Watch 3: Sukiyaki sold through 77.32 percent of its initial shipment. As a comparison to the first week sales of other Yo-kai Watch entries’ first week sales:

– Yo-kai Watch 2: Shinuchi (Yo-kai Watch 2’s third version): 1,244,000 copies
– Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits / Fleshy Souls – 1,317,000 copies
– Yo-kai Watch 3: Sushi / Tempura – 632,000 copies

Media Create points out that Yo-kai Watch’s popularity has fallen compared to the Yo-kai Watch 2 era. As a third version title, Sukiyaki had a massive drop in first week sales compared to previous games.
