I’ve been playing the game and it’s been on par with my expectations (which were very high!). I decided to share my first impressions in this small video for the Nintendo Everything’s YouTube channel. Metroid Dread Special Edition unboxing

If you’ve been hoping for a closer look at the Metroid Dread Special Edition, we have you covered with a new unboxing video.

This is a special release exclusive to the physical version. Copies include a steel game case, five high-quality art cards with key art for each 2D Metroid game, and a 190-page art book spanning all five entries in the 2D Metroid saga.

Metroid Dread, the latest in the 2D exploration series, arrives on Switch today. Nintendo has released a launch trailer to celebrate, check it out below.

My Nintendo has just added a new Metroid Dread holographic foil poster set for its North American users. It can be ordered now for 1,000 points. The size comes in at 11.75″ x 18″.

Both posters feature key art from the game. Samus is shown in both images, with the Chozo featured in one and E.M.M.I. in the other.

Nintendo and MercurySteam have come out with one final report for Metroid Dread. Today’s piece covers a few points the dev team worked particularly hard on for the game’s design, visuals, programming, sound effects, and music.

The first reviews for Metroid Dread are now in. Nintendo has lifted an embargo on the game, and verdicts are now starting to come online.

We are only a few days away from the launch of Metroid Dread. It’s been a long time since we saw a new, original, 2D game in the series. Right now, expectations are at the highest point so far. Nintendo has shown a lot of the game and everything is looking encouraging. I decided to take a closer look at the information we have, analyzing what elements Dread is borrowing from previous games, and how it is trying to create the best Metroid experience possible.

The file size for Metroid Dread isn’t quite as big as we initially thought.

After the game was announced at E3 2021, Nintendo immediately started taking pre-orders on the Switch eShop. The listed size at the time was 6.9GB. That wasn’t exactly massive to begin with, but it looks like the download has been reduced a week out from launch.
