Nintendo Direct

Little Mac is joining the Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS roster, it’s been revealed. A new trailer debuting on today’s Nintendo Direct confirms the news. We’ll have the video here shortly.

Putting this post up a bit earlier than usual. Feel free to chat away about your hopes, expectations, and whatever else is on your mind regarding today’s Nintendo Directs.

Each presentation will begin at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT (3.5 hours from now). The North American broadcast is said to last about 41 minutes, while the Japanese one will be roughly 39 minutes.

Updates will be posted on the site throughout the presentations.

Brace yourself for a fairly long Nintendo Direct presentation – at least in North America. The broadcast is expected to last approximately 41 minutes.

My guess would be that the European and Japanese streams will vary in length, though perhaps just slightly. We do know that Satoru Shibata will be appearing in the European presentation.

Anyway, it sounds like Nintendo could have quite a bit to show. Should be fun!

Update 3: Masahiro Sakurai has now retweeted the announcement. Make of that what you will!

Update 2: Davis has now clarified that his tweet was posted without any knowledge of tomorrow’s proceedings. At least that’s one “mystery” solved!

Update: I’ll also mention in passing that the Nintendo Direct news has been retweeted by a couple of folks at PlatinumGames, and Next Level Games’ Brian Davis has also posted about the presentation. I’m not too sure how much we should read into Davis’ tweet, but it’s interesting to see that two prominent Platinum staffers have retweeted the Nintendo Direct announcement.

Original: Does the title above seem similar? It should. When Soraya Saga (Tetsuya Takahashi’s wife) last retweeted news regarding Nintendo Direct, it was for Nintendo’s E3 2013 presentation – and when we last saw “X”.

Saga has once again retweeted news about Nintendo Direct, this time for tomorrow’s broadcast. It’s sparking speculation that X will be making an appearance during the upcoming presentation.

Nintendo did say earlier that tomorrow’s event will focus on games releasing before the end of spring. But perhaps they’ll take the time to show a new trailer for X as well? Maybe, maybe not. Keep those expectations in check, as Nintendo hasn’t specifically mentioned which titles will be shown.

Update: Nintendo has confirmed the presentation for Japan in addition to North America and Europe.

A new Nintendo Direct presentation will be streamed tomorrow, Nintendo has announced. This one will be the first presentation of 2014.

An announcement sent out by the company confirms that titles releasing before the end of 2014 will be covered. As usual, Satoru Iwata will be hosting the proceedings, and in the European broadcast, Satoru Shibata will be appearing.

Tomorrow’s presentation will be streamed at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT. Head past the break for the official announcement.

Caution: some strong language in the video.
