Panic Button

Warframe

The free-to-play cooperative online action game Warframe is coming to Switch, Digital Extremes announced at TennoCon today. Panic Button, who previously ported Doom, Wolfenstein II, and Rocket League to Nintendo’s console, is working on the release.

Here’s the full announcement and trailer:

Wolfenstein II

With some major help from Panic Button, Wolfenstein II released on Switch yesterday. Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at the port from a technical perspective.

Arguably what’s most important is the content. No sacrifices were made here, as every level from other versions of Wolfenstein II are present on Switch. All sequences are presented in full. Some tricks were implemented though, like placing a wall in a certain area of the game – likely to reduce load when looking back at the stage.

With Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus arriving on Switch today, Bethesda has issued a new launch trailer. Have a look at the video below.

After it was announced for the system several months ago, Wolfenstein II arrives on Switch tomorrow. Find a video below comparing it to the PC version, along with the first 19 minutes.

Rocket League has received its latest update on Switch. It’s officially version 1.0.8 on the system, though Psyonix is also calling it version 1.48 for its patch notes.

Speaking of patch notes, we have those below. Psyonix has implemented changes and updates, bug fixes, and more.

Wolfenstein II launches on Switch this week. But what about Wolfenstein: The New Order, the last game main in the series? Or how about The New Order’s standalone prequel Wolfenstein: The Old Blood?

Unfortunately, at least for the time being, there aren’t any plans for either of these titles on Switch. Adam Creighton, studio head at developer Panic Button, told GameSpot in a new interview:

Psyonix is sharing the second of two big status updates for Rocket League today. After detailing a new Rocket Pass system yesterday, the studio has followed up with information about changes to XP and level progression that are planned for this summer.

Here’s the full rundown:

One of the items listed in Psyonix’s recent Summer Roadmap for Rocket League is the Rocket Pass. The studio shared official details on what fans can expect from the new system when it drops later this year.

Psyonix says Rocket Pass “is a brand new, time-limited progression system that will give you several ways to earn new content in Rocket League.” The developer wants to offer several of these passes every year, “with an emphasis on new, unique content for each Pass.”

Wolfenstein II

Panic Button has quickly become an expert when it comes to Switch ports. Having worked on the Switch versions of Bethesda’s Doom and Wolfenstein II as well as Rocket League, the studio knows how to get demanding titles up-and-running on the system.

Speaking with MCV, Panic Button boss Adam Creighton spoke about the window between a game’s initial release date and the Switch release. He says the window is “shrinking all the time for those publishers and developers who are planning on Switch at the outset.”

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Those who are looking to get a head start on the digital version of Wolfenstein II can do so with the new pre-load option. The game can be purchased and downloaded in advance. Then on launch day, you’ll only need to connect online once to begin playing.

Wolfenstein II launches June 29. The digital version takes up 21.8GB of space.
