New sales data is in from the UK for the month of January.

GamesIndustry reports that there was an increase in physical games sold last month compared to the same period the year prior. 1.25 million boxed games were sold, up slightly from the 1.24 million boxed games sold in January 2017. Revenue also rose year-over-year from £35 million to £37 million.

Nintendo is credited for the rise in performance, which makes sense given how Switch wasn’t around in January 2017. The Big N held a 9% share of the software market at that point, but in January 2018, rose to 13.6% and was the top games company in the UK in terms of physical sales.

GamesIndustry has a new report on Switch sales in the UK. According to the site, 700,000 units have been sold since last year’s launch. GamesIndustry further adds that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have sold more than one million copies between them. As far as Wii U goes, Switch has already outsold the system.

While Switch is doing fairly well in the UK, it hasn’t taken off as much as it has in other countries. Unlike other regions, the console hasn’t broken again records there. Piers Harding-Rolls, director of research and analysis at IHS Markit, provides the following as to why that is:

Puyo Puyo Tetris is closing in on one million copies sold worldwide on Switch, SEGA has announced. Series producer Mizuki Hosoyamada shared the news during a Puyo Puyo Anniversary TV Show 2018 broadcast earlier today.

Unfortunately, the broadcast itself wasn’t too exciting. SEGA showed off its mobile game Puyo Puyo Quest, but there really wasn’t much new for fans of the series.
