Rumor: Switch version of Dragon Quest XI will have content not in the PS4 version
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
Square Enix’s 38th annual meeting of stockholders took place in Japan last week. During the event, the company apparently commented on the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI once again. One person who attended claims Square Enix stated that the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI will have content not found in the PlayStation 4 version.
At this time, an official transcript of the event has not been published. That means we only have the vague tweet to go by currently.
Despite being one of the first games confirmed for the system, Dragon Quest XI is still not out on Switch. Furthermore, Square Enix has yet to show the game on Nintendo’s console. Producer Hokuto Okamoto previously explained why it was announced so early.

Dragon Quest XI producer says “many things” need to be worked out before Switch version launches
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Dragon Quest XI might be the most mysterious Switch game in development currently. After all, it was technically announced way back in 2015 when the system still had its codename NX.
Polygon asked Hokuto Okamoto for an update on the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI at E3 last week. “We’re making it,” he said. “We’re still making it. I can’t say anything more.”
Final Fantasy XIV director says discussions are still “ongoing” with Nintendo for a Switch version

Square Enix has said on numerous occasions that Final Fantasy XIV could be a possibility for Switch. This has been discussed even when the system was known as NX. Our last update was in November of last year, when director / producer Naoki Yoshida said that he wants the MMORPG on as many platforms as possible.
Since then, nothing has changed. Yoshida again told VGR that he and the rest of his team want “as many to play as possible.” Discussions are also still taking place with Nintendo to see if Final Fantasy XIV can come to Switch and Xbox One with cross-play with the PC and PS4 versions. Yoshida added he “hopes to announce something as soon as we can.”
Square Enix not planning Octopath Traveler DLC

These days, many games receive DLC at or after launch. In the case of Octopath Traveler, there won’t be anything on that front. Producer Masashi Takahashi, in an interview with Dengeki Online, said that the game is complete as is – hence why there’s no need for DLC.
Here’s the latest Japanese trailer for Octopath Traveler by the way:
NieR: Automata devs talk about Switch, may have interest in a port
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
At E3 this year, Square Enix announced a new platform for NieR: Automata, as it’s coming to Xbox One. Unfortunately, a Switch version wasn’t revealed – though the possibility of it happening in the future may remain.
During an official Square Enix Presents stream from E3 today, director Yoko Taro, producer Yosuke Saito, and designer Takahisa Taura appeared in a brief message. The three touched on the Xbox One port, but Taro then brought up a Switch version. There was some light-hearted discussion taking place here so it’s unclear how much of it should be taken seriously, but Saito did say that it might be able to happen if enough people show interest by asking Taura on Twitter. Saito then seemed to make a joke that if it were to come to Switch, it could take two years since they want to keep their jobs going “by releasing a little by little.”

Dragon Quest X is still a possibility for the west
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Switch, Wii, Wii U | 0 comments
Dragon Quest X is one of the few recent entries in the series that has not left Japan. The MMORPG first appeared on Wii in 2012, and has since landed on Wii U, 3DS, and Switch.
Many fans have given up on the possibility of a localization at this point, but Square Enix isn’t ruling out the idea entirely. Actually, Dragon Quest XI producer Yuu Miyake told Game Informer that the team wants to bring it stateside, though the five-year plan of service would need to be rearranged.
