Super Smash Bros. for 3DS

The Japanese Super Smash Bros. for 3DS packaging we posted earlier today offers up a few more tidbits about the upcoming game.

As many of you know, Smash Bros. will include StreetPass functionality. The packaging indicates that the feature ties into a “mini-game”, but sadly, no further information is provided. You can count on SpotPass support as well, which comes in the form of “notifications”.

Keep in mind that Super Smash Bros. for 3DS does not support Download Play. Those who plan on playing local matches will each need a copy of the game.

Finally, the title will only include one save slot. That was probably expected!

With the Japanese Super Smash Bros. 3DS coming closer, some of the game’s packaging is already starting to appear. There’s not too much to see in the shot above, though it does reveal the game’s file size. It takes up 2.1GB of space on an SD card, which is about 17,300 blocks.

Today’s Super Smash Bros. for 3DS screenshot appears to reveal a new stage in the game that pays homage to the Game Boy. Check it out below:

Sakurai left an additional comment on Miiverse, in which he states:

If you turn on the 3D effect, it really looks like there’s a Game Boy inside the screen.

Although Sakurai doesn’t flat-out confirm a stage here, that definitely looks like the case.

Amazon is listing a Prima guide for the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros.

Here’s an overview as to what’s included:

The guide will be available on October 3 – just in time for the game’s launch.

French retailer Micromania has confirmed a pre-order bonus for the new Super Smash Bros. 3DS game. Those who reserve the title will be provided with a dog tag, pictured above.
