Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

smash bros ultimate wings

Nintendo is planning a new event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this week. Starting on October 1, a tournament will be held in which only characters with wings can participate. Everyone else on the roster will need to sit this one out. As you increase your win total, the better types of spirits you can get during the tournament. Note that it will last three days in total.

Today’s announcement was expected since Nintendo switches between tournaments and Spirit Board events. A couple of weeks ago, we saw an event dedicated to Assist Trophies. Next week will likely be another Spirit Board event and we’ll then see another tourney after that.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate first launched for Switch in December 2018, and Nintendo is starting to wrap up its major support for the game. There’s one last DLC character to be revealed as part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which we’ll be hearing about next week. Director Masahiro Sakurai will be making the announcement as part of a presentation that should last roughly 40 minutes. We’ll have all of the information on the site as it’s announced.
