Nintendo has started up the latest Switch firmware update, and version 18.0.0 is rolling out worldwide.
Past updates have typically been about stability. While that’s still the case here, it’s at least slightly more exciting this time around. The Sleep Mode Settings now include a 15-minute option for auto-sleep when connected to a television. Additionally, Korean support is added for the Switch Parental controls intro video.

[Preview] Roman Sands RE:Build

Roman Sands RE:Build is one of the strangest games I’ve played in a while, and that’s saying something, because I’ve played a lot of weird games lately. On a surface level, this first-person adventure appears to be an eccentric experience about performing menial tasks for the entitled guests of a strange luxury resort. It quickly becomes apparent that there’s much more going on behind the scenes: time seems to be looping, and also, the apocalypse might be nigh – or did it already happen? Despite having demoed this game twice now, I’m still not entirely sure what it’s about, but I can confidently say I’ve never played anything quite like it.

Yoko Shimomura reflects on her work for Super Mario RPG
Posted on 8 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Yoko Shimomura played a key role in Super Mario RPG as back in the day, she was the game’s composer. Music is one of a few reasons why the title is beloved today.
Shimomura came back for the new remake and updated the tracks for the modern era. However, players can switch to the original music if they prefer.
In a previous feature on Daion, Shimomura shared a few words about her work. She mentions feeling pressure living up to the Super Mario name while also feeling “incredibly lucky”. We also get to hear about wanting the Switch version’s music to remain faithful to the original.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer discusses Switch’s latest “miracle” port
Posted on 8 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Interviews, Switch | 0 comments
Even though Switch has been around for over seven years, “miracle” ports for the system are always a topic of conversation. Many games that may have been thought impossible for the console have made their way over, ranging from The Witcher 3 to Doom Eternal.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is now the latest port to have arrived on Switch. Despite being a game that can be taxing on even more powerful consoles, Warhorse Studios – in partnership with Saber Interactive – managed to make a version for Nintendo’s platform that is overall pretty admirable. We recently spoke with lead programmer Anton Vasilev to talk about what the development process was actually like.
