Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 had a double dose of content updates tonight. Along with the Piranha Pit stage, the Sorella Brella weapon was also added. Footage of both can be found below.

It turns out not one, but two Splatfests will be held in Splatoon 2 next weekend. In addition to the North American competition, a separate event is planned for Europe.

What do you prefer: eating popcorn as salty or sweet? If you’re in Europe, you can make your voice heard by competing in the Splatfest. It’ll be held for a full day starting on April 7 at 3 PM in the UK / 4 PM in Europe.

A new North American Splatfest will be held in Splatoon 2 next week. This one is all about sports, putting baseball up against soccer.

The Splatfest begins on April 6 at 9 PM PT / April 7 at 12 AM ET. Expect the event to last for a full day, with the results coming soon after.

The next new weapon coming to Splatoon 2 is the Sorella Brella. It’s identical to the Splat Brella in terms of stats, but comes with the Autobomb sub-weapon and the Splat Bomb Launcher special instead. It’ll be available on Saturday around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and Friday night in North America.

The next Splatoon 2 map is arriving very soon. Piranha Pit will be added to the game later this week, Nintendo has confirmed.

Piranha Pit will be out on Friday at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET. That should be Saturday at 3 AM in the UK / 4 AM in Europe.

With the upcoming Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2, Nintendo is going for something different. The setting is an underground section of the world, complete with a darker tone to match.
