Lost Ember, Mooneye Studios’ story-driven exploration adventure game, finally has a release date on Switch. Based on an eShop listing, the game is expected to arrive on September 24.

Rodea the Sky Soldier to be removed from the Wii U and 3DS eShops this month

Through a partnership with Kadokawa Games, NIS America was able to bring Rodea the Sky Soldier to the west. Now, however, your opportunity to buy the game digitally is about to be over. NIS America has announced that Rodea the Sky Soldier will be removed from the North American and European Wii U / 3DS eShops on September 30.
Rodea the Sky Soldier will still live on through its physical release. Prices for the Wii U and 3DS versions are relatively cheap right now.
Hotshot Racing getting a bunch of post-launch content for free

Hotshot Racing is almost here, but things won’t come to a screeching halt following release. Curve Digital, the game’s publisher, has confirmed free post-launch content. Players can look forward to a bunch of extras, “including new tracks, mode and Championship”.
Curve didn’t say when the extra content will be ready other than “soon”. As for the actual game, it launches on the Switch eShop tomorrow.

Dragon Ball FighterZ adds DLC character Master Roshi next week

Thanks to Japanese outlet V Jump, we now have a release date for Master Roshi in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The DLC character will be added to the game on September 18. If you have FighterZ Pass 3, you can get early access on September 16.

Freedom Finger getting a physical release

A physical version of Freedom Finger is on the way, Super Rare Games announced today in partnership with developer Wide Right Games.
A total of 4,000 copies will be produced. Each unit contains all the content on its cart, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and three trading cards randomly selected from the five-card set.
Pre-orders open on September 17 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM in the UK / 7 PM in Europe. It’ll be up on Super Rare Games’ website here.
Warhawk director Dylan Jobe joins Retro Studios as director of development

Earlier this year, Warhawk director Dylan Jobe joined Metroid Prime 4 developer Retro Studios. He’s on board as director of development.
Jobe has over 25 years of development experience in the gaming industry. Aside from Warhawk, he previously contributed to Doom, Twisted Metal: Black, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
As for his new role at Retro, VGC points out that Jobe “is responsible for Metroid Prime 4’s schedule, scope and product quality”. He’s additionally expected to “handle performance evaluations of development team members and act as the liaison between departments to meet production goals.”
